On a good team TJ is a third stringer, an energy guy at PG who has some skills, can be a spark plug in games where the guys and team ahead of him aren't playing with energy and effort, and can slide into that backup PG slot for periods where the top two points are out. Also a good guy to defend smaller, quicker PG's, assuming we end up with a couple of taller PG types as our first and second string. He could be a second stringer if he could score at the rim or in the lane consistently, but he really can't. I can see him improving his catch and shoot three pointers, but don't see much likelihood of improvement in the lane unless he develops a really amazing floater.

Good for TJ, man. I was a big fan of his last year, and started to doubt him this year, but he's shown me he can belong in this league.

Definitely not as a starting PG, but I think he can carve himself a career role has a 3rd string PG (as most are saying here). His physical limitations and lack of shooting make it almost impossible to think he could be anything more than that, but I'm happy for him regardless. He deserves some kudos for being part of the "spark" this team is on right now. His endless effort and defensive tenacity and hustle is not going unnoticed.

dorkestra wrote:Like I said I like the guy and he's definitely easy to root for. I just think that compared to backup point guards on some of the top teams, he is definitely a bit outmatched. it can be overcome, but it's certainly not a strength on the court, despite his intangible contributions. That's why I said "ideally" he is your third string point guard.

I agree. Ideally a third string but ideally is the key work.

He's destroying lottery balls.

The one thing no one is talking about is that TJs D has legitimately improved more than anyone but Covs from last year. He is an improved set shot from being delly, maybe a little more.

Not worried about where we draft. Tanking is over, we will get a good prospect(s) regardless.

is TJ really 6'2? anyways, he's playing like he belongs in the NBA, hope he keeps improving, we need a good floor general backing up Fultz

Got to give props to Timothy John. I saw a decent backup PG developing last year. His growth this year has been extraordinary. Now he's exceeded my expectation and is a legitimate starter on a team. No he's not a top end starter, but he's certainly starter level with the way he's been playing. His defense makes a huge difference out there and it is quite unique for PGs in today's league.

How big a role do you think Brett Brown has played in TJ's development?

If LBJ wants to play with TJ, he is welcome here in Philly.

they offered us Jordan McRae. They offered us a dude, who couldn't make our team last year.

TJ Superstar is worth Love + picks or just give us LeBron! Go Sam...sorry Bryan. :D

They need to put Cedi Osman on the table if they want to talk TJ.

TJ is too positive an influence on our team's attitude and hustle. I think he's worth more for his intangibles than his stats suggest. I don't want to give him away at all. Keep him as our backup PG for the next ten years.
