This should be merged with the face vs booty thread.

Neither have a legit answer.

in riddles, there is usually one of more terms that have more than one meaning and are used in the primary (obvious) way in the literal interpretation of the riddle, and in a secondary (non obvious) way, in the solution.
i think in this case the misdirecting term is 'block'
block is used in the sense of city block (13 blocks) or as a music measure (block of music, like a bar).

so for example, the man is going to a talent night show, he buys a drum and sticks, takes the streetcar to the theater.
when he gets there and starts performing, he stinks, therefore on the tenth 'block' of music, they kick him out

What do you call someone who wants Carmelo Anthony to waive his NTC and to leave the team?

"Because he gave a streetcar driver a dime to drive him 13 blocks (and that was 30 cents too little)." Gotta gotta be the intended answer. No? Keep meaning to say this when the thread pops up.

Because each block costs a penny. Dime = 10 blocks.

Here's an amusing fact. I google'd "A Man Had a Dollar Riddle"

First Hit: RealGm Knicks.

2nd Hit: Wiki that explains it.

I'm reluctant to end an era and post the 2nd.

Isn't it ultimately a variation? I'll have to read the original riddle again

No, the missing dollar riddle is completely different.

They kicked him out because he is an ***hole!

His drum was taking up an extra seat?

He ran out of money?

He only needed to go ten blocks and didn't know it?

He smelled?

It was 100 years ago and he was black?

No one liked him.

He was a **** drummer!

This above is the answer, he was a terrible musician and the other passengers told him to get off. That of this riddle is never meant to be answered, it is for the lolz of people going over the top to answer.

Most of the times in life, the simple path/solution is always the answer. This riddle is no different

Only one living person at a time in his family knows it, and when they are dying, they only tell it to one other member to carry it on. He said I can ask anyone in the world that I want for help, so I figured I will take to the bright minds on this board.

The riddle is:

A man had a dollar. He spent 80 cents for a drum and 10 cents for 2 drumsticks. He gave a streetcar driver a dime to drive him 13 blocks. On the tenth block they kicked him out. Why?

Hint: I tell you the answer every time I say the riddle.

Good luck guys. I look forward to your answers.

The bolded is the answer.

The man was kicked out then asks why?

He was never told why he was kicked out, see bolded: he doesn't know the answer.

I tell you the "answer" every time I say the riddle.

The first part about it being passed down is part of the riddle.

You're welcome.

Could also be because of the internment camps or concentration camps during WW2. But the real interesting thing is that GONYK also posts on REDDIT and a hookah blog site.
