Game 42: Pistons (18-23) @ Jazz (24-16) - 10:30 PM EST

Post#1 » by whitehops » Fri Jan 13, 2017 5:43 pm

another night of staying up until 1 AM to watch our team play... i hate west coast road trips. been dead tired half the week. at least there's no work tomorrow, i suppose.

no leuer, no KCP, no defense?

not a lot to be positive about with this team right now, but there's no better time to break out of a slump than right NOW!

go pistons!

18-24 would look like a white flag.

This season!? It's looking like "injury marred" is a fair descriptor. Reggie and Bullock to start the season, now Leuer and KCP. Those advocating the youth movement are going to get their wish out of necessity. Their shooting is abysmal. Nowhere to go but on though, so go Pistons!

If Pistons can beat the Jazz and then the Lakers next they will have a good chance to build some steam with a lot of home games coming up. This next couple of weeks are make or break time for this season.

I'll probably just catch like 30 minutes of the game. Hopefully we bring effort. If we do that should be a grind it out game

Lots of season left. KCP basically has a sore shoulder. It's not a sprain or a full tear? It may well be several games, but I'm more worried that the entire team can't seem to find any consistent rhythm.

I figured it would be an AC joint sprain which is more common with an impact-type injury like KCP seemed to get.
I'm a little surprised it was a rotator cuff because it didn't seem like his arm was extended and stretched or rotated awkwardly.
Whatever the case, if it's a grade 2 then that's not ideal. Definitely involves some degree of tearing of the muscle and/or tendons. A grade 3 injury would be a complete tear of muscle/tendons and would likely require surgery.

Damn, didn't want him to injure a tendon or any fibers. That's going to be an ongoing thing unless he's absolutely 100% cleared which likely takes a decent amount of time.

Yes, not the kind of activity that typically injures the rotator cuff? Tendon injury is worst case of course, but at this point who knows? I'm just taking solace in not hearing those other terms. Should get Bullard back on the floor soon. Roster has gotten thin! I guess SJ is getting his chance at redemption?

Yeah I'm obviously not a doctor, but typically you'd see a rotator cuff injury when the arm is extended and gets forcefully rotated backward. KCP seemed to have his arm pretty much up against his body when he caught that screen similar to what happened to Stanley last year.

The Jazz has suffered so many injuries these last two years, and now they're a top team. We need patience and to add some key pieces, but again we need effort and bad boy attitude coming from our youngs, if there is any player who is not giving 100% we should be open to trade him.

I agree... The off and on nature of this group is starting to confirm my feelings that some of the guys aren't buying into the system and/or aren't willing to give maximum effort. These guys are just playing selfishly on offense and lazily on defense way too often. Way too little ball movement and people movement on offense and way too many miscommunications and missed rotations on defense.
At this point whoever is at the core of these problems should have their role reduced or even be traded if possible. It's a large enough sample size now for me to go there.
