This would be the exact lateral, quick fix move we're always complaining about

Dragic has years on his deal which is not horrific in the new cap but far from a good contract

Dragic is as bad a defender or worse than rose

Dragic is as inconsistent a scorer as rose

Dragic provides equivalent leadership to rose

And perhaps most importantly it's just yet another major change to a roster that can't keep a single thing between seasons to grow o

Oh, and the draft is coming up so why in the world would you make a deal like this prior to it (unless we were to get picks or quality young players in the deal)

I don't think you guys quite understand the situation. Dragic is no doubt better than Rose at everything besides defense. His experience with Jeff would only help his acclimation to the team. The Heat however are reportedly asking for too much on a Dragic deal so a Rose for Dragic swap is not likely. Just saying the Knicks have absolutely no chance at any of the marquee point guards in free agency and would either need to trade for a guard or draft one.

No I'm saying at this point we're **** for the near future no matter what. I don't know what needs to happen we just don't need to make any bad moves. Trading for Dragic in a vacuum isn't a bad move. He's underpaid and if its a Rose swap we're trading away a negative asset for him. In the new CBA cap space matters less than assets.

I feel like you being honest but irrational too at the same time. We hit and you don't know what to do. I agree. We hit and I don't know what to do either.

You got a warrior thinking. I respect that. But I'm thinking we need to stop the bleeding and see what what's what.

Here's what I know. THIS, doesn't stop the bleeding. It either makes it more manageable or worse.

Where the F do i sign? Like PJax said, He has the ability to go nuclear. How much better would this team be with the PG able to hit the open man immediately and be a threat shooting from the perimeter? They both suck on D so no loss there. DRose steps up in crunch time to get buckets. Does Dragic?

I'm biased though. Wanted Dragic here since 2012.

Anytime anyone talks down on him that's the video I show.

What a performance.

In the playoffs too at that.

He's making less than Noah.

Dragic is as bad a defender or worse than rose

Not at all. He's not good but He's better than Rose.

Dragic is as inconsistent a scorer as rose

Not at all. He averages 19 points per game (more than Rose), shoots 47% on 2 pointers (same as Rose), 41% on 3s (way more than Rose), makes 3.6 freethrows a game (more than Rose), and shoots less FGAs a night than Rose.

Dragoc has also scored at least 10 points in every game he finished this year (he got injured in 3 games this year and scored under 10 all 3 times), has 8 games with under 5 assists (Rose has 21), and despite constantly dealing with nagging injuries this year he's been way better than Rose. Miami is 1-7 when Dragic doesn't play and they all all 3 games he got hurt in. Dragic is a definite upgrade. It'll be trading one of the worst PGs in the league for a mediocre PG on a good contract if we can pull this trade off. Miami would never take it though.

Dragic provides equivalent leadership to rose

Dragic has never left the team with no warning. Dragic has never been benched in the 4th so the team can have a shot at winning because He's a ball hog.

And perhaps most importantly it's just yet another major change to a roster that can't keep a single thing between seasons to grow o

The draft is in the offseason. This is like saying no one should ever make a trade...

Drives to rim at will, shoots 41% from 3, isn't a great passer but isn't the worst (7 assists a night I think), and can score 20 easily. He's also a better defender than Rose.

Plus he had his best years under Horny. He has 3 seasons on his deal but in Horny's system we need 2 PGs. It'll never happen though. Miami would have to be real desperate for a rebuild. They can lose with Dragic so they don't care about having him. He's probably pissed tho.

He is also old, with 3 yrs left on his contract

I disagree. Y'all all know I've wanted Dragic for a long time. He's a decent PG on a contract cheaper than Noah's. Rose on the other hand is one of the worst starting PGs in the league. With Dragic in the place of Rose we're definitely in the playoffs. Whether or not that's a good think remains to be seen but I believe that and remember I'm the guy that predicted us to be 9th seed in the preseason (we're currently 0.5 games out of 9th). I try to look at these moves objectively and objectively Dragic is on a positive contract.

True but he's playing better than last year despite being banged up because his shot has improved. Honestly in the new CBA cap space matters less than assets and Dragic is a positive asset at this point and at least for the next year or so.

If you had Dragic this team would be extremely formidable and one to be reckoned with. Playing the pick n roll with KP would be deadly, as Dragic was with Frye and an otherwise team of Suns scrubs that won 48 games...their other starters were Gerald Green, PJ Tucker and Miles Plumlee. Those 5 won 48. Bledsoe was there but out most of the season.

As I posted in a couple other places earlier...

The Suns have also quickly become one of the best pick-and-roll acts in the game. Recent player-tracking data analytics suggest that the Dragic–Channing Frye pairing is the most efficient pick-and-roll tandem in the league. According to the data, the Suns are averaging a ridiculous 1.3 points per possession on the 392 Dragic-Frye pick-and-rolls this season.

Read on Twitter

Vogel made that statement when they were the #1 seed in the east, but the Suns throttled them at home and beat them fairly easily in Indiana.

Of course it would take a hell of a lot more to get Dragic, but if you could, and stayed healthy, I think you would be top 3 in the east. Better than Boston....not sure about Toronto.
