No, if he signs his super max he'd be ineligible for trades for 1 year.

Qwigglez wrote:If Kings traded Cousins, is he able to sign the max contract extension this offseason with the new team that just acquired him? If so, then teams need to offer everything to get Cousins.

If hes traded he would be able to sign a 5 year deal but the money would be a little less than with the kings per the new cba. I dont think hes going anywhere. One common misconception in the boogie situation is that boogie absolutely wants out of sac. Ive heard he actually likes it there and i think thats the reason he hasnt been moved yet.

The reason you hear the trade rumors is because even though he likes it there if they flounder and suck for the next year in a half theres a belief some team will turn him once he hits the open market.

I would consider swapping Warren for Bender in that deal. Either way, I'll do it.

I'd rather not. On the flip side...if we're going for it, why not. We'd prob have the cap space to absorb much of his contract.

What's weird is, I hate Knight right now but if we made that trade I'd kinda hope we keep him.

Losing Len and Warren in that trade thins out our bench a bit and while we figure it out, Knight could be a valuable scoring commodity.

Take Miami's pick, our 1st and Warren + Len. I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'm tired of losing.

I would have never guessed that i would pop a boner today thanks to Gambo.

Getting Cousins while keeping Bledsoe/Booker is already huge. I would also be ecstatic to keep Chandler in that situation as well, as i would love to see a Cousins/Chandler frontcourt. So lets see..... Len/Warren/Chriss (im guessing they take Chriss over Bender), our 2017 pick, maybe our 2018 pick as well (and yes we can trade both our 17&18 picks because we do own a '18 pick with Miami's). I dont know if they would take Knight or not. They already have 2 (formerly good) PG's on the roster, and doubt they would want to take on 4 years of Knight. If they did, then they would also have to send us another player in return to make the money of the trade work, but i think they would rather just leave out Knight and save themselves that cash to go after a player that they really want.

Bledsoe/Ulis
Booker/Barbosa
Tucker/Dudley
Cousins/Bender
Chandler/Williams

I would rather give up our 17 & 18 than give up our 17 and Miami's 18.

I think we have a better shot at making the playoffs with Cousins than Miami does next season, so that Miami pick will end up being more valuable.

Gambo is an idiot. I think whatever "Blockbuster Trade" we're a part of will be as a facilitator rather than the team getting the best player.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Why would they want Len?

Yeah, that's fine too. Gambo said the Sac insider said that Warren, Len + our first wasn't enough. He suggested us throwing in Chriss. My point is that I want to keep Chriss and Bender and would rather mortgage a future first instead.

Exactly. I feel like a lot of local sports talking heads just play armchair GM like the rest of us, but float their musing on the internet as news and claim they have "sources". Nothing about that reported deal makes sense to me, especially with the current losing streak we're on. DeMarcus Cousins, as good as his numbers are, isn't necessarily a player that rights the ship.

Give them Knight too, they need a point guard. Knight/Len/Warren/PHX 1st and call it a day.

The new CBA + trading for a pick that will get worse because of the trade = Gambo ran out of **** to talk about and made something up. Boogie's given every indication that he wants to stay for that new mega contract, and management has given every indication that they're delusional enough to keep him even if he didn't want to stay. This isn't happening.

darealjuice wrote:It is Gambo so I doubt it's anything, but it's interesting to talk about. It would definitely mean that the rebuilding effort has ended, but the goal of rebuilding is to get a superstar and Boogie is a star for sure.

I don't see why the Kings would do it if their goal is a franchise point guard though, Boogie joining the Suns would help us win games in an already tight lottery race to where we could easily end up outside of the Top 5. They are a pretty inept franchise though, so I wouldn't put it past them. Hell I'd even throw in Knight if all they want is Len, Warren, and our 1st rounder lol.

No. The talks are going on. Doesn't mean it will happen. I've listened off and on to Gambo since he has been in town. You can tell when he is just blowing smoke and when something real is happening. This is real. Again, talks might fall apart, but I can guarantee you talks are happening.

Make it the two Miami picks and we keep our pick this year.
