I'm not sure if that is meant to detract from my point, but even that being what it is, he doesn't have any more access to high quality ground coaches than Sage or Thatch do. The difference is in the commitment to it.

Not really, but I just wonder how Thompson would have taken to it had he not had such a strong influence in his family.

All the warm up fights in the world wouldnt have helped against Nunez. She's too one dimensional. GSP is not a great puncher but he knows how to defend against a puncher. Rousey can do neither. Shell come back in 2 or 3 years if she can't make money doing something else and the UFC will give her a couple of softball opponents before feeding her to the lions so they can both make as much money as possible before she's exposed again. People have short memories. That's what they should have did this time but her and the UFC were impatient. They needed her back with the title right away because they are in desperate need of more marketable stars.

GSP has probably one of the best Jabs in the game. He doesn't necessarily have the KO power like other Welterweights, but that Jab is deadly man.

Ronda needs to move to a new camp man. In the Joe Rogan podcast they were talking about how a fighter who has trained in one disciple(Judo/BJJ) for most of their life and begin cross training in something else (boxing) should still rely on their original discipline to dominate their fights. Too often they try to only implement their new learning and falter doing so. Rousey's pre-fight training camp with Edmun is all boxing and she tried to become a boxer rather than rely on what made her successful to that point.

Those early KO's against Bethe, Davis, and McMann became a false-sense of security in a way with her standup. Though if you look closely at those fights, she was still hit/rocked far too often.

Edmund has successfully ruined two great careers in Browne and Rousey. Browne is 2-4 since switching over to Glendale Fight Club. He had so much potential prior to.

Edmond has to have some kind of weird brainwashing technique. I remember Browne singing his praises saying he never knew how to fight until he met Edmond. Dude - you KTFO Barnett and Overeem before you met him. The only legit fight you've won since you left is Schaub, the Mitrione fight should have been a NC with all the fouls.

Seriously though, why did Rousey never train or use single/double legs in case her head toss thing wasn't working?

Rousey was the Goldberg of the MMA world. She flattened everyone and she had this aura of indestructibility around her.
Now that it is gone, it's strange...you feel like she wouldn't beat half of the people she destroyed.

I really hope that she comes back and fights a few warm up fights, like against a 6-7 ranked fighter. She needs it to build back her self confidence.

Always have a plan B (an C, etc). Actually, I guess she though she'd box instead if she couldn't head toss.

Edmond did it in a fit of rage. He was upset at her lack of head movement.

Nah, he was probably too busy cheating on his taxes.

Seriously though, don't see why any random person would do that. I mean if you know her personally and she was rude to you or something, but...

Again, it'll be interesting to see what the buys are. I don't think Ronda should be ruled out as the biggest star in the ufc quite yet. Maybe I'm completely wrong and it does 500-750k or something, but I doubt it. I literally saw multiple ~30 year old single moms posting about the fight LOL. And you know the usual hardcores watched.

Buys were huge. It was a Friday night. Def. the biggest star in the sport behind Conor and honestly the gap may not be as huge as mma fans think.

For a while there I thought you were referring to Mike Goldberg and couldn't figure out what the hell you meant.

May have been leading up to that fight, but I don't think so any more.. especially after that pathetic performance. Pulling a Cruz/Conor post-defeat would have did so much for the intrigue of a potential return, but not sure any more.

Though I can see people being tempted to buy another one of her fights just to see her get destroyed again

Rogan said on the fight companion that "people backstage at the UFC wearing $2000 suits" (paraphrase) were fixated on the idea that Ronda was going to destroy Nunes. Said they didn't know Nunes name and were referring to her as "cannon fodder". Rogan said he's not sure if they were just people who know the guys in WME or what. My impression is that it was the WME guys who were saying it and he didn't want to oust them.

Anyone who was sure about that fight was wrong, and I don't care if they turned out to be right.
