Re: Welcome Luwawu
How is he looking thus far. Stats seem ok but pedestrian? I haven't had a chance to watch. I was high on this guy in the draft.
cheers

I think that his head is spinning right now. He has mostly looked like he doesn't deserve NBA minutes yet, but it is early, and he has had some flashes. I think he will go to the Dleague, and benefit from it.

Re: Welcome Luwawu
the most disapointing thing is that he isn't as athletic as we have been told. He quick tho...but too quick as the ball gets left behind a lot.

It's weird because we've seen video of him leaping higher and dunking harder than it looks like is possible watching him in a Sixers' jersey.
Where is this player that's dunking over people? -

Looks ok so far, but like I suspected, we should have taken Patrick McCaw who looks pretty good and more ready to contribute now. I think the odds are that McCaw will be a better player.

I listed a half dozen better picks after the draft, and they all will be better. I see no NBA talent on TLC. An impoverished man's Dante
Exum at the ceiling. McCaw, Brogdon, Wiltjer, Ulis and others who were later picks have enough ability to stick in the NBA.
Why bother to accumulate picks and then draft badly? I could tell in the summer league he was not an NBA player. Then they gave up on McCrae and Wood, not stars but real NBA deep bench role players.

I don't see the comparison with Dante Exum at all. That guy is going to be really valuable for the Jazz this season with his defense and playmaking abilities. This late in the draft there's always a risk of the prospect not making the NBA, Luwawu played in the second(!) league in France and an extremely young team in Serbia. The kid is going to have a rough time adjusting to the NBA. Do agree that McCaw is the better prospect, but I don't see many players drafted after Luwawu that I would have preferred.
When I think of Luwawu's potential I'm thinking about players like Kent Bazemore.

I'd take Kent Bazemore...TLC is fine and should be on the roster...not a camp cut given the lack of wings and he does have some time to develop.

We need to talk about him more. At least he should get more playing time, so there would be material to talk about. Gerald, take some time off and rest whatever you need resting.

when I read the headline that Hendo had hip problems and was in excruciating pain, i read it as possibly out for the season. I'm freakin terrible.
I can say Holmes and TLC will look great again with Simmons back

Re: Welcome Luwawu
TLC has been getting consistent reserve minutes....and i think thats fine for him at this stage of his career.
Ive seen him drill multiple 3's consistently during warm-ups and shoot arounds....but in games, I feel things are still a little too "fast" for him.
Hopefully through a few minutes a game for an entire NBA season and a good off-season he can start to develop into an athletic, defensive wing with 3PT ability.

TLC a quietly good game tonight (albeit 10mins). Plays within himself and good vision in half court.

We assume that we are going to be getting talented guards in this upcoming draft, but I think that Luwawu is showing that he can play, and he could probably have double the role next year as he has this year.

Re: Welcome Luwawu
Yeah he's going to be ready for 20 mpg next season. I expect him to become a nice 3&D wing for us in the RoCo mold in another year or two.

That was quick, 26 minutes today. A lot of rookie mistakes once he embraced a bigger role.

Re: Welcome Luwawu
Made a couple mistakes but I saw some nice things out of him. Needs to work on his finishing and I actually think he's gonna benefit the most out of any player when Simmons returns for the simple fact that he's always moving off the ball getting in good spots. Ben will find him he just has to finish plays.

Re: Welcome Luwawu
Timo reminds me of the type of player that balls out and develops into a starter on like his third NBA team. I hope we have patience with him.
