Simmons is Magic Johnson right now. Just like Noel was Olajuwon and Okafor was Kevin McHale. How that work out?

Let's see Simmons play before we give him the MVP.

I don't know how legit this is but I think this guy works for Orlando Magic Daily. But Crowder for Ibaka? Really?

To be fair, Crowder followed the Magic on twitter.

Damn, already getting the fake twitter rumors? Thought that was a first week of July and middle of February thing. Early this year.

If we're trading for Ibaka, it's Zeller/Olynyk/Jerebko/Amir in the mix, anything else is disastrous. If they want to put Gordon on the table, we can discuss.

Vucevic would make a ton of sense, too, if we're foregoing some/all cap room.

Crowder/Zeller + future non-Brook first for Ibaka. Numbers work. I've coveted Ibaka since the draft and I've thought Danny would have taken him if he lasted to end of first round in 2008. He was very raw.

Crowder has been a great Celtic and very good value. But anyone get the feeling the writing is on the wall after that recent Hayward thing?

2017-18? Very deep team (ultimately too deep if the youth pan out), adds quality without giving up the core beyond Crowder.

Ibaka/Zizic/Mickey
Horford/Olynyk/Yabusele (Jerebko)
Hayward/Brown/Nader
Bradley/Smart/Rozier
Thomas/Fultz (Ball)/Jackson

Magic fans think the guy is legit. I will say this, it looks like he got the Ibaka trade to Orlando first.

This surprises me. Why would Ainge trade Crowder to Orlando unless it's in a package for Gordon?

Ibaka would be a potential rental, and only for a few months. Matching salary, and a decent draft pick or two seems more than enough. Zeller/Young Min '17 2nd, Bos '18 1st. The premise is that they would trade him if he wasn't going to sign, so they would just be looking to get some value in return as opposed to losing him for nothing.

It was once said that Lamar Odom would be a shoe salesman if he were 6'2". Same holds true for Okafor. Utterly baffled that people still have interest in this guy.

I have been following him on Twitter for a long time, the guy is among best no-name news-breakers. He gives out both hot and kinda warm info like Smitty gave us during SL, so there's obviously some things to take with grain of salt because not everything he says will happen, but he's legit.

I think Crowder fits better in Orlando than Ibaka. They can play Crowder at SF, Gordon at PF, and maybe Biyombo at C. It makes more sense that Crowder would be traded for Vicevic, but what's the backup plan for Crowder.

Zeller/Amir/Crowder for Ibaka/Vucevic works for salary. Can Ibaka start at SF?

Re: potential rental - the Celtics would be checking with his agent about resigning before any deal is made.

Just giving them two players we don't want plus a couple of future unknown assets won't be attractive enough, ORL would probably keep him and see what happens in the offseason. Aside from that Toronto would try to offer more as they are looking to take that next step and challenge Cleveland.

January 15 is the de facto first day of the trading season, so the next 5 weeks could be interesting.

Trading for Ibaka means we're likely not targeting a max FA this offseason, as his cap hold should be fairly significant. This leads me to believe we'd have another trade lined up for a star on a decent salary.

Looking at our roster, we'd have two legitimately elite 3&D big men and an elite 3&D SG. We'd have Isaiah who can space the floor and drive at will, but he needs help from another guy who can create his own shot. We'd have a massive hole at SF, and we'd be built for a guy who loves to drive. If I had to guess, based on all the surrounding facts, Jimmy Butler would be the guy we're targeting in tandem with Ibaka.

IT/AB/Butler/Ibaka/Horford is an interesting lineup. I don't know if it's good enough to get you over Cleveland, but the spacing out bigs provide would definitely make it interesting.

And Smart was DWade and Jaylen was young MJ.

Butler posting this today is clearly a red herring.

This rumor makes sense to me. Opens up playing time for Jaylen Brown this year. Opens up the SF slot for Gordon Hayward next year. Ibaka gives the Celtics another capable big to go win Horford. Orlando needs a good SF. Makes too much sense to happen.
