Already salivating over the never-gonna-happen hypothetical Smart-Bradley-Butler-Ibaka-Horford defensive beast lineup.

Ibaka's caphold should be 17-18MM. Trading for him removes us from signing a max FA this offseason.

Let's see Simmons play before we give him the MVP.
And Smart was DWade and Jaylen was young MJ.
OK. You just proved my point

Ainge would move other players

Would need to be 8-10MM. AB or Jaylen+Smart for picks. That doesn't really make us better.

Do not see orl trading ibaka after what they gave up to get him. He also said he loves it there and wants to stay. No story here imo.

Trade for Ibaka would make sense if there's another move lined up for Butler or George.

With Horford here, not sure why they'd have interest in Ibaka. Neither reportedly want to play the 5.

Has Smitty commented on this?
Getting Ibaka for the mentioned package is a good trade for the C´s

I'd bet Ibaka stays in Orlando, and that we won't trade for him in any case.
There are scenarios where we might, but implausible ones. 17 million dollar cap hold?
Theoretically, Crowder/Yabu for Ibaka, Bradley/Zizic for Lavine, that ends up being close.
Not a Serge fan, but Ainge is a starf*cker.

Bradley/Crowder for Ibaka/Gordon would be really interesting.

Ibaka and Butler would give us a competitive series against the Cavs. Pending we don't give up a ton.

I don't see a lot of players who deserves max contract this summer.
I hate the "Hayward for max" thing. He is not Durant or Butler.
Griffin is not a max player either.
I'd rather have 2 or 3 good players with $10-12 millions/year than Hayward with the max.

Also was thinking something like that...
Bradley, Crowder, Young + some picks and rights to Yabu? for Ibaka and Gordon
fallowed by...
Amir, Zeller, Brown, Rozier + BK17 pick for Butler, Lopez (they liked Rozier + get rid of Lopez's deal)
IT/Smart
Butler/Green
Gordon/Nader?
Ibaka/Olynyk
Horford/Lopez
Or maybe instead of taking Lopez we add Jerebko+Amir to deal for Gordon/Ibaka and help Magic by taking on Biyombo's ugly deal.
And if we want back up SF we could try and get McDermott on top of Butler.
IT/Smart
Butler/Green
Gordon/McDermott
Ibaka/Olynyk
Horford/Biyombo

If you're on Firefox, click grey i in left corner, click on "connection is not secure" right arrow and then disable protection for now.
Probably sth similar on Chrome.
The reason is that ESPN is https but that page takes some images from sites with regular http protocol (probably team logos).

If all these rumours over the past couple weeks are true, it seems like Danny really wants to move the picks and compete now.
Interesting.
Interesting.

People understand that Ainge and the Celtics are trying to win?
The mind reels. What is so sexy about low post scoring that Okafor won't go away even after Philly's proven to be significantly better with him OFF the floor? Oh right, 1980s McHale fever dreams.
Odds are we overpay for "stars" and hit a ceiling as a 55 win also-ran, like Chicago, OKC, Memphis, Houston etc.
Okafor is on a rookie deal and he's hugely undervalued right now. Great buy low opportunity.
Ibaka is the opposite - overvalued for being on good OKC teams, about to cash in on a max deal he deserved five years ago when he blocked three shots a game. He's been trending down since then. Let someone else pay him - Presti won the hell out of that trade with Orlando - Oladipo is trending up, Sabonis is surprisingly solid, and Ibaka is underwhelming.

Would also rather have Noel, and his 11 million dollar cap hold (15, now?) than Ibaka and his 18.

Even Ibaka's advanced stats on defense have been trending toward mediocrity.
