Bump.

With BK getting DNPs and the team looking better for it, it's starting to look like his move is inevitable. I'm guessing we're looking for one thing - a first round pick. That's it. Overall, a major loss on that transaction. But it's pretty clear that we're simply better without him. You can't nail a player like that to the bench for a whole season. He'll go.

Given how much Watson loves to play Tyson and Tucker, and given that we're finally starting to be competitive with this mix, I have a hard time seeing McD moving either of them. If someone offers a first for PJ, that could do it, but I wouldn't do that if I were another team's GM. But with Chandler, you get the added benefit of dampening Len's FA value. That is all to say that Knight appears, from my perspective, to be the sole piece on the move.

Though you do have to wonder whether what we intend to do about JD. Move him? Move Tucker to make room for him? Make a bigger move to shake things up? Tough stuff.

We all better hope Tucker is moved before the deadline because there's a better than good chance he re-signs with us this Summer if he isn't. I can not handle another 3 years of Tucker blocking Warren and now Bender's development. It's time for him to move on.

In case you guys hadn't realize, this is Tucker's 5th season with us. You know who else was with us for 5 years? Grant Hill. I just find it funny that he's spent just as much time with the Suns organization as Grant Hill. He was probably one of my favorite Suns for such a short duration with us.

Anyway, hoping Tucker/Knight get traded. I actually wouldn't mind keeping Chandler and Bledsoe for now unless an incredible deal is offered. Only teams that are in dire need of a PG who are fighting for the playoffs I would say are the Bulls, Magic, maybe Mavs if they are trying to make the playoffs.

With us playing better of late, I'm concerned there will be no moves. Knight not getting time likely means his value is at 0.
Tucker, Chandler, Barbosa....guys who we really need to consider trading will probably stick around so that we can "fight" for an under 500 playoff spot and quick playoff exit against the Warriors.
I'm also very concerned that Sarver will ask McD to add pieces that'll help and, again, stunt our rebuild in the year there is a deep draft.

I wouldn't care as much if we still had LA's pick, but we don't...

I don't think concerns like this have any basis in reality. McD's had plenty of leeway - we won't make a move to win now unless that's part of McD's plan. Furthermore, there's been every indication that Sarver is on board with the youth movement.

If anything, the FO is taking a more patient approach than we fans, on the whole. As I mentioned in the prospects thread, I don't think there's very good reason to tank right now. Especially if the major catalyst for our winning is Devin Booker averaging 35 points a night.

To be clear, when I say tank, I'm saying, give Bender, Chriss, and Ulis a ton of minutes. If it's a close game in the 4th, let the kids have a chance to finish the job instead of vets like Tucker and Chandler.
I agree it's a good thing to have Booker grow and show he's a star in the making, but imagine adding a 'sure thing' in this draft? Add that piece and IMO, our core would be set. Lots of youth, lots of cap space, lots of growth, and lots of room for moves to be made.

I am glad Booker is figuring it out though for sure.

To me, playing Ulis and tanking are mutually exclusive options. :D I think Tyler is part of our core rotation going forward.

Can you add the 'nobody' option?

It might just be Knight and Dudley for expirings, we don't play / need them and opens $25m for rookie extensions.

Chandler, Barbosa, Tucker help the FO have a bit each way as they like vets.

I know McDonough might like an extra pick, so maybe he pushes more if he's set on trying to get another lottery pick on draft day.

Where do we think players go if they get moved?

My guesses:

BK - Orlando for Super Mario and change

Chandler - Boston or Portland. Amir and a late first early second? I can't do salary stuff on my phone at the moment.

PJ - Houston or literally any playoff bound team.

Bled - I liked the Utah idea. But again, what would Houston look like with Bled? Why the heck am I interested in Houston? I think a Bled trade would be very left of field.
