Phil looking like an armature hour team president again. I hope we fire Phil before we trade Melo so Phil doesn't have a chance to blow another deal.

Longley was terrible and Rice turned into Shandon Anderson's and Eisleys contracts (which were awful). If we trade Melo, it has to be for an actual asset. Otherwise, agree to a buyout or keep things as they are.

Att this point I'd take a mid pick and an expiring if the team takes Melo and Noah's bumb ass!

And Frank Isola and other writers love it.

Frank no longer being a beatwriter pretty much decides the games he wants to attend, and you know there was no way he wasn't going to travel to Canada just to get a response about the rosen article from carmelo.

Yep, let's have Dolan run the team again, because he's been so good at it

Who's going to give a unprotected top 5 pick or star for an aging Melo!? Lets get rid of him to a team like the Mavs or Clippers for their mid draft pick and expirings! If you really want to piss Melo off, then bench him until he caves in and waive that trade clause!

It's impossible to build a team around Rudy Gay.

Phil has always played the mind games with his players, players much better talents than Melo, and he's won everywhere except here. if anything Phil looks stupid for thinking he could try to build a competitive product with Melo as the center piece, not because of what he has his mouth piece saying. There's only one loser in the room. I don't even like Phil at all, but Phil really doesn't have to say anything else melo was clearly disturbed and that was Phil's goal. Phil wins again by bruising Melo's ego.

And both guys are guilty of talking through someone else's mouth, unless you believe wade has never talked to Melo about his NTC.

melo's ego about to get hit again when he gets left out of all-star weekend. That could be his last straw and I love it.

The obvious solution that this organization is too cowardly to do is to play Melo according to his contribution to wins and losses AND his contribution to the team as a whole which they are not doing. If they bench him early for lack of effort, and keep him there for long periods of time when he waives off Hornaceck's play then everything would fall into place.

The other players wouldn't feel like Melo has the team hostage
The overall play should improve, wins and losses be damned - right now it's about teamwork and effort
Perhaps Melo plays himself back into consistent minutes/respect
...if not, he waives his NTC or expands his choices so as not to watch his prime flushed
...otherwise we collect our picks until he becomes a FA at which point most teams won't give a s#it about him.

If he begins to act out to the media it's no sweat. It's not like there hasn't been drama damned near every year he's been in NYC anyway. We did it to Marbury and to date I've rarely heard anyone who's had a problem with it. Besides, guys like dakomish and E-balla can then watch the disgruntled NY product get run out and win a championship...for a second time :D

I want Melo gone so we can start whose is better KP or our 2017 pick. Should be a fun cycle to start again.

the all-star game is Melo's saving grace. He puts up with the losing to promote his brand. This could be the final straw when he is sitting home and all his buddies are playing in the all-star game. That might be the final straw.

Lol at Melo's ego being hurt. He has been playing on a lottery team with a revolving door of players and coaches.

Melo loves playing NYC. He could have asked for a trade 2 years ago. Mistreating the teams best player is just going to make it difficult to sign quality free agents.

Do u hate your team or something? That is an absolute STEAL for the Knicks. Knick fans would be popping bottles all night if they got that trade package for Melo.

it shouldn't be about that. We have had so many different rosters around Melo and outside of one crazy 3 point shooting crazy year we have sucked. We have sucked threw multiple gm's multiple other players and teams. No matter what GM was here we just would have never won with him especially at this point. Maybe in his early years here we had a chance when he was in his prime. But we wasted those years with an injured amare. Now that ship has sailed. Melo can't carry a team and we need to properly rebuild and get younger talent to play alongside KP.

I'm still trying to find those quality FA's who were tripping all over themselves to get here! I mean Durant wanted to come and Westbrook, but we went with Noah and Rose.....lol! There hasn't been a quality FA since Amare and before that Allan Houston!
