Re: And here it comes... Melo leaving?
Melo has to go. I know, and I'm sure the players in that locker room agree with me, but I know I'd prefer to watch
-Rose drive to the rim with blinders on, consistently scoring at a good rate with good efficiency, AND hustling his a$$ off on defense even though he is a horrid defender (he at least moves his feet and tries to keep up with his man) AND..
-Noah gutting it out trying to make defensive plays and trying to score some inside (even though his layup game is AWFUL)
than to watch Melo call his own shots, exert little to no effort defensively, b1tch that he frozen out of a play in the locker room (seemingly the only time he shows emotion in the locker room is when the players don't appease him) and intentionally get himself thrown out of games. His behavior seems to be wearing off on other players too. Lately Hernangomez looks disinterested defensively, Rose, for the first time in his career, was a no call no show at game time, tonight I watched Lee twice just come down and hoist the ball from the 3pt line with plenty of time on the shotclock with no regard to any other player on the floor (that "ME" mentality) and Jennings has lost whatever flair he had early on in the season. Melo, intentionally or not, seems to suck the positive traits out of his teammates. It's disturbing how guys that showed promise look like zombies. I mean even Rose and Noah, say what you want about them, but Noah has looked much better as of late (even with his free throws) and even Bulls fans will agree that Rose has rebounded from his previous play better than they expected. It's time guys.

I seriously want a win/win here, Melo goes to a contender, we get a piece or two going forward, I have zero hard feelings about the Melo experiment--just end it already.

Melo loves playing NYC. He could have asked for a trade 2 years ago. Mistreating the teams best player is just going to make it difficult to sign quality free agents.
I'm still trying to find those quality FA's who were tripping all over themselves to get here! I mean Durant wanted to come and Westbrook, but we went with Noah and Rose.....lol! There hasn't been a quality FA since Amare and before that Allan Houston!
The only time players want to be on Carmelo's team is when it comes to Team USA and the All-Star game.

They seem to be doing the right thing with their best player. They aren't playing him right now because of the sore Achilles.
We'll agree to disagree. Melo has 2 years left of solid play at worse.
The team is still garbage. Put Carmelo on any team with a good PG and I expect his numbers to look greatly improved.
Like I said before. Carmelo can be moved if the Knicks want to get rid of him. He isn't going to some garbage team so the Knicks can get a better deal.

Re: And here it comes... Melo leaving?
Phil definitely released word through Rosen. Completely believe Melo would only consider the Cavs and Clips to be traded to, maybe LA. Would you guys be interested in Kevin Love? I probably wouldn't because I would rather have younger pieces and just build the right way.
But I really think Love is our best bet of a trade happening. Clippers trading Griffin makes no sense, he is better than melo. Even if we don't take Love, it will be a 3 team trade which I could see happening. You can bet Lebron would sign off on giving up Love for Melo in a heartbeat. In that case, what could we get for Love? Maybe Boston would be willing to give something to pair him and Horford down low? Know Horford doesn't like the 5 but still. There are other possibilities out there also.
Sad thing is, I think the Knicks are a better team if we got something like Jae Crowder and the Nets pick. The 3 and D hustle would be more useful to this team than Melo's inefficient shooting and poor defense

That's exactly it though... It's not about winning to Melo. If he wants to win, why wouldn't San Antonio be on his list? Why not Toronto or Boston? Why not Utah or Memphis? Memphis seems like a great spot for him team-wise. Melo is still about his brand and always will be.

I'd trade Melo for a 2nd Rounder. The dude is toxic! I just want him gone!

If we want Love or Griffin, we're pairing Melo with a protected first and KOQ. That might get it done but it's still unlikely.

Knicks aren't getting Love.
Shumpert and Frye for Carmelo. Cleveland throws in a future pick.
Knicks maybe move in a 3rd team to send Shumpert.

Maybe, then he should be providing that solid play while in a Knicks uniform, which he clearly is not doing. Nothing is preventing that but Melo. Plenty of good players play good despite their cast, so that excuse even if Melo is using it is rather weak.
In reality there is no market for Melo. The only one's that think so are fans.

The only move that makes sense is some kind of three way with the Knicks, Cleveland, and team X - with Love going there, and picks and young players (and filler) coming here.
Does Boston still want Love? Cause I want the Nets pick.

He wants to play with his buddies Paul or LeBron.
Who wants to move for the sake of moving if they don't have too.

Going to Orlando or Phoenix is just for the sake of moving. If it's about basketball, he should want to win. Any situation that he can win some games in should look attractive. San Antonio, Memphis, Utah, Boston and Toronto should look great. The other options is that the Knicks could do this the hard way. They can bench him more, not play him in crunch time, etc. They don't have to give in to his NTC demands.

I don't even think Cleveland gives up Frye. He still plays 19 MPG as their backup C.

I'd bet at this point, Love isn't worth it for Boston. Not with the makeup of their team. I'd think they'd be in the market for a defensive big if anything. Maybe an actual center. No way we get that pick for Melo either way.

Exactly what I said. The Melo homers that are saying Knicks don't get anything for him are delusional. Not even wasting my time responding to Charlie Frye and Shumpert. Knicks aren't even discussing something like that.
Think Love going somewhere else for assets going back to New York is a real possibility. Cavs aren't exactly blowing it out of the water right now. I think they might be feeling vulnerable looking out at some of those West teams. Lebron might be tempted to swing that trade to splash like the Warriors signing KD

Re: And here it comes... Melo leaving?
Melo wants to move to an All-Star team. GTFOH! Every player wants that. Bench him until the reality hits him that he is no longer good enough to control his fate and he's definitely not good enough for an All-Star caliber team attempting to liquidate for him.
