That's exactly it though... It's not about winning to Melo. If he wants to win, why wouldn't San Antonio be on his list? Why not Toronto or Boston? Why not Utah or Memphis? Memphis seems like a great spot for him team-wise. Melo is still about his brand and always will be.

He wants to play with his buddies Paul or LeBron.

Who wants to move for the sake of moving if they don't have too.

Going to Orlando is just for the sake of moving. If it's about basketball, he should want to win. Any situation that he can win some games in should look attractive. The Knicks can do this the hard way and just not treat him like a good player anymore. They can bench him more, not play him in crunch time, etc. They don't have to give in to his NTC demands.

Carmelo is 33 years old. He isn't paying to make the playoffs man. He wants to play for a championship.

Love averaging over 20/10 they aren't trading him

Melo era coming to an end soon?

Melo is a world class PUSSY.

His post game comments are a disgrace ---- yeah Me7o you step back and let a guy like C-Lee be our leader....you just sit back pad some stats and help us keep losing.

I wouldn't let him on the court again --- wouldn't let him infect the whole group. Keep shooting Melo.

I honestly think love has much more value than melo. One could argue that love is a more productive player right now. At worst it's a wash.

Melo is a number one option on a sinking ship. Love is a 3rd option on a defending champion. And their production is comparable. Love has years of service left. Melo doesn't.

Similar with griffin. Griffin is way more valuable.

That nets pick is way more valuable than melo. There's a chance that pick will result in a player nearly as productive as melo is now. And do it for another decade.

I just don't see any real value there. I think the best the knicks can hope for is a bailout package.

its just not working out for the guy. I like the guy personally, but his attitude is a joke. And lets please stop blaming the coach and the teammates of Melo. Leaders lead by example, not throw tirades at their mates.

But I really think Love is our best bet of a trade happening. Clippers trading Griffin makes no sense, he is better than melo. Even if we don't take Love, it will be a 3 team trade which I could see happening. You can bet Lebron would sign off on giving up Love for Melo in a heartbeat. In that case, what could we get for Love? Maybe Boston would be willing to give something to pair him and Horford down low? Know Horford doesn't like the 5 but still. There are other possibilities out there also.

Sad thing is, I think the Knicks are a better team if we got something like Jae Crowder and the Nets pick. The 3 and D hustle would be more useful to this team than Melo's inefficient shooting and poor defense

If we want Love or Griffin, we're pairing Melo with a protected first and KOQ. That might get it done but it's still unlikely.

Don't think the Knicks want Love or Griffin. Melo and Love are about equal. We could work out a three team trade there. I mentioned there isn't a reason that makes sense for Clips to give up Griffin, that isn't going to happen.

Exactly what I said. The Melo homers that are saying Knicks don't get anything for him are delusional. Not even wasting my time responding to Charlie Frye and Shumpert. Knicks aren't even discussing something like that.

Think Love going somewhere else for assets going back to New York is a real possibility. Cavs aren't exactly blowing it out of the water right now. I think they might be feeling vulnerable looking out at some of those West teams. Lebron might be tempted to swing that trade to splash like the Warriors signing KD

Cavs have the best record in the east without Melo. Why are they trading Love who is younger for a non defending chucking Melo?

I can tell folks haven't watched the Cavs at all this season. They are not replacing Love who is blending in quite well, with Melo who isn't a real pf, and certainly wont accept a third cog role. Melo has never given any indication he would accept a deal to Cleveland of all places. Good lord if the Cavs lost the finals.

LA is possible, although I'm not sure Doc is fond of Melo, never really got that impression, but perhaps CP3 could given that endorsement while he is an upcoming free agent himself.

We are going to need to tank for another 2, 3 or 4 years but I'd be so f***ing happy to see this Loser go bye bye.

Give us a $5 foot long and let's call it a day -- fans don't deserve to see a guy getting paid $25M a year go thru the motions...its despicable.

We aren't getting Blake either. So that be Crawford or JJ and scraps. Might be able to move JJ to a third team for a late pick but Crawford is a bad contract

Sadly melo doesn't have real trade value.... **** as this point, he's going to pick up his player option because he's not going to be making $20 million by the time his contract is up. Very few teams will want him. Either you keep him or waive him (good luck with that)....

Chris Paul being a free agent this summer could be enough for the Clippers to trade for Carmelo even if they don't want to. Can't lose Chris Paul because you don't want to sign his friend.

I don't think Boston gives up the pick this year, but if they see a trade that can push them over the top, next years' Brooklyn pick might be on the table. Melo is averaging 22 points on 18 shots or something and Love is averaging 21 on 16 shots I think. Not a huge difference. Just think Melo has more trade value than a lot of you guys are giving credit for. I would bet if Melo was playing on Cleveland, he'd be a lot more efficient as a spot up shooter off Lebron's assists and a lot less of a ball stopper. They may be tempted to do that trade, definitely considering Lebron's relationship with Melo.

Why wouldn't Carmelo come off the bench for the Cavs?

Playing for the Cavs would extend his playing career. He'd be playing less minutes and wouldn't have to carry the team.

If all Carmelo cared about was starting he would waive his NTC and go to the Kings and or plenty of other teams where he can chuck as much as he wants.

Yea Cavs arent trading Love for Melo. Love has been more productive and Love is still only 28.

If its indeed only Cavs or Clips, Knicks might as well accept the Clippers trash offer of a future 1st rounder or wait until the off-season.
