It's possible that the paint becomes too crowded due to those two, so the benefit of having a PG who's capable of driving to and finishing at the rim is diminished to a large extent. In that case it might be better to have someone who is already comfortable with 60% of their FGA coming from 3.
Not true. Simmons and Embiid can drive to the basket. Embiid is clearly a good shooter from every spot on the floor. Simmons will be at full speed driving down hill if a defender gives him too much space. Spacing is not a thing when your center and power forward can do the things that Embiid and Simmons can. Bottomline, Embiid and Simmons can stand behind the 3 point line out of the way as good as any other NBA player. If a defender sags off of Simmons too much while the PG is driving, there will be hell to pay. Simmons with a full head of steam will cause serious problems for the opposition.
Embiid is not a high volume 3 pt. shooter and his %s are coming back down to Earth. If our PG drives the paint and draws defenders, then kicks it out to SImmons, Simmons is supposed to then charge the paint and run into the wall of defenders that are already there? Prokafor logic.

The emojis are really insightful. There needs to be more emojis and less other stuff.

Can Thornwell and Dozier thrive together or are they going to keep trading back and forth which of them actually plays well.

You are in checkmate when you get the rolling eyes, head banging bricks, and the crazy finger around the ear in the same post. There is no way to defeat an argument that utilizes all three of those emojis.

Guess I haven't been around long enough to catch the care about emojis disease. You guys must really get into your feelings when someone goes all caps. "OMG, Why are you yelling?

Prokafors don't respond to logic. I've found the best way to communicate with them is through emojis.

I think medical red flags will be associated with him and could force him to fall if he comes out this year ( unless he has some crazy, dominant Tournament run)
At this point it won't just be health that holds him back. He looks incredibly raw. He can't even catch the ball half the time. I wouldn't even think to consider selecting him before Edrice Adebayo or Ivan Rabb, at this point.
It's so early still to give Giles a fair shake. Let's see how he plays over the next few months.
He will probably be up to full starters minutes in the next few weeks, and then he has time to work out the rust.
If he ends the year completely healthy, and on an upswing, he is still going to be be a top 6 pick, and if he dominates in March then he could go all the way up to the top of the draft.

Josh Jackson with an ugly shooting night tonight. His shot is totally broken. As good as he is at everything else, I have no confidence he'll ever be a decent shooter. And shooting is paramount in the league now.

Concerning that Dozier's number have dipped at times with Thornwell back. I they are both still shooting it 10+ times a game though.
I do think there will be issues offensively, but their defense should always keep them in games. They have both been phenomenal on that end this year.
Should give UK a bit of trouble since we're guard focused.

With two top ten picks and two franchise players already on the roster I think he is still worth the gamble.

Kid is growing on me more and more. Seems to have an extremely well rounded game, and if he can tighten up his perimeter skills a bit more and be a full time wing, he could be a really good 2-way perimeter player.
I hate using comparisons based on school, but he kinda reminds me of a 6'6" version of Draymond Green. He has a motor and edge to him that I love.
If he finishes the season shooting 40+% from 3PT, I could see him being a top 8-10 pick.

Yea I watched that game, and his jumper is awkward as hell. Its a legitimate concern. He is down to 23% from 3PT, and 57% from the FT line. That really raises my eyebrows as I am a huge proponent of correlating FT% to shooting ability.
He does other things really well though, defensively and in transition he would be a great fit with Simmons/Embiid, but the lack of a perimeter shot could be an issue....You want things as spaced out as possible for Embiid/Simmons to work, especially in the playoffs where things tend to get slowed down and games become more half court oriented.
I think Jackson could be an Iguodala like swingman, who can stuff a stat sheet and do a lot of things well, but the lack of a consistent perimeter shot could hinder him from taking that next step to be considered a "star" wing. Obviously, with Simmons/Embiid this is less of a concern, but the fit with shooting does worry me a bit.
FWIW, here's Iguodala's shooting %'s from his 2 years at Arizona (freshmen year he only played 19MPG)
Fresh: 38% FG - 20% 3PT - 67% FT
Soph: 45% FG - 31.5% 3PT - 79% FT
I would be fine with Jackson, and factoring in the fact that we are winning games lately I wouldn't be picky. I do feel like Monk and some other prospects may be better "fits" for us if we had the choice....but its looking like we may be pushed into picking in the 4-7 range rather than the top 3 like we were all expecting.

Doesn't feel like he's ever had somebody work with him on it. They will in the league and with his drive to be the best I think he can be molded.
Do you think his shot will have to be rebuilt from the ground up? Not only is the wierd hitch an issue, but his release point is so low that it looks like the ball is blocking his vision
If his shot was one smooth shooting motion, even with the low release point, i think he would still be more accurate with his shooting.

DSJ with another impressive 30+ point outing. This kids good, and is still probably shaking off some rust from injury. He could challenge Fultz/Ball for the #1 pick IMO come June.

His coaches are already working with him to change his mechanics. Im not sure if it's MKG levels of broken, but the numbers are pretty eye opening. 57% from the line.. yeesh. He's an awful fit with Simmons and Embiid.

I think it is going to need a lot of work. If he was shooting poorly, but hitting his FT's are a respectable rate, id have much more optimism. But shooting under 60% is simply horrendous. Thats like Okafor/Noel level FT shooting.

Yeah I think so. He's going to have to learn something comfortable for him that allows him to regain confidence in his jumper. I think he knows it's a weakness and he wants to be better at it so he'll put the time in when someone puts the time in with him. Kid is pretty driven. Might be a few years project in that regard though.
