Mid-range 2s, right?
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Don't see that on paper or in his play. Shooting lowest FG % of career so far at 44% and a very low 16% from 3. He is shooting free throws at his best clip of 76%. Apart from those important stats, he still does not bring a level of play that is a difference maker night after night. I say find the right deal and trade him. He will never become a scoring/shooting threat, nor is he a lock down defender (good one but not great).
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

MKG cannot make a jumper to save his life unless he takes a one step dribble to his left and shoots. I honestly dont know how anyone can defend his play at this point. I did have a man threaten to kill me 3 years ago on this board because i said mkg was waaaaay better than otto porter and would be a way better player. Hes a genius right now

Posted this last week in the MKG thread:

MKG on shots 15-19 feet:

2012-13 season - 38-114 (33.3%)
2013-14 season - 20-53 (37.7%)
2014-15 season - 52-137 (38.0%)
2016-17 season - 28-66 (42.4%)

For comparison sake, random sample of FG% of other players from 15-19 feet this season:

Lamb: 18-39 (46.2%)
Melo: 66-157 (42.0%)
Tony Allen: 1-9 (11.1%)
Devin Booker: 43-114 (37.7%)
Justise Winslow: 10-38 (26.3%)

MKG shooting 46% on 2s is nice and all, but we need way more out of him on offense. He doesnt take enough 2s for those %s to matter. Either he starts taking/making 3s to be a threat from the corner or he needs to score at the rim at FT line, or become a ball handler who can break down defense and make plays for others.

No Hornet fan should be OK with where MKG is at this point. We can't just be content with him not being injured. Lets take the bubble wrap off MKGs feelings. Him being a great dude and hard worker shouldnt exclude him from criticism.

So glad people are finally taking off the ruby colored glasses with MKG and critically evaluating him. I like the dude, but we can't keep living on his "potential".

I'm not sure there is a fix. Really disappointed in a lot of players on our team. Cho needs to jettison salary I guess and hope for next offseason

This was the danger of re-signing Batum and Marv at large contracts. I get it that we got some good players at a slight dip from top market value. Batum is our second best player but that is a,drop off from Kemba, who is really good but not great. Marv is a solid pro and reasonably productive but diminishing a little bit more as he gets older. Batum can still be reasonably good value if we make moves to pair he and Kemba with a deadly shooter/scorer. MKG is not the guy we need to do that but must be part of any deal that offers a solution.

What team would really want Hyphen? Whatever deal we'd get would never seem like fair value, but that's because we value him higher than the league does. The fake Denver deal mentioned earlier was about as good as might might get, and I would be fine with it.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Marvs contract is still a bargain even with him struggling. 12 mil isnt even quite starter money under the new cap. Batums contract is unfortunate, though.

Ricky Rubio is available. The problem is, I am not sure how much of an upgrade he is over Sessions. Neither one shoots very well, especially from three (you may have to add filters):

I'm so sorry, I had no idea you were visually impaired; that must be tough. No wonder you're a Hornet's fan.

(I like Sessions but Rubio is a significant upgrade. For example, Rubio is smart enough to never pass to Hibbert, ever.)

What the hell? Sessions is shooting 39%, Rubio 37.3%. Sessions is hitting 29.4% from three, Rubio 24.7%. You think Rubio is an upgrade? Another point guard who can't shoot? Another point guard who is too poor to play alongside Kemba Walker? Who scores less than 2/3 as many points per 36 minutes as Sessions?

No.

And for the record, I am hearing impaired. Go insult someone else.
