Uh huh.... Knight is owed $55m through June 2020, & he has been just an awful player. & you want to give not just one but two R1 picks plus a player for him. Got to be the all time worst trade suggestion on this Board. Certainly the worst in the 4.5 years I've been here. By a lot.
His contract is much better than 99% of current contracts today and is a steal for his production. He can Score which is what the 2nd unit needs. What option do you for a Backup PG that can score over 10 points you have then?
Brandon Knight isn't good anymore. I'd trade a protected 2nd for him like the Burke trade and then dump Burke somewhere. That's bout it

Probably not even that, this guy averages an inefficient 12&2 on a 12 million dollar contract that increases every year. Imagine paying a 30 year old backup point guard 15 million in 2019 lol

I have to agree with payitforward. Give Burke the number of shots Knight gets and he can be just as inefficient. Both are terrible defenders. Only difference is one is on his rookie contract and the other has a killer contract.
You want your backup PG not to score just 10 points a game but do so rather efficiently, within the framework of the offense, not completely freeze out his teammates as well stagnate ball movement and at least make a solid effort to defend on the other end of the court. Knight is literally one of the worst players at all of these things and is a big reason why his teams have always fared better when he is NOT on the floor.
When considering the luxury tax implications we potentially face & the fact your giving away two picks its about as bad a deal as I've seen. I don't even think Ernie would give up two picks for Knight. Even if you threw in Nicholson to make it work cap wise, its still a terrible deal.
I suspect a deal is coming but it will likely be for another forward since Nicholson has flopped. I believe Ernie will go the cheap route as far as resolving the backup G issue. I could see a Jarrett Jack signing in our future if Sato isn't able to lockdown the backup PG position over the next week or two.

Where do we sign? I'd even throw in a player or two
On a more serious note, as a Suns fan who watches quote a lot of Wiz games (Gortat) I'm telling you three times: you do not want Brandon Knight on your team. He's an inefficient and selfish player, a volume shooter, turnover prone and a bad defender. Other than that he's an all around nice guy.
I still can't believe McD traded that LAL pick for him...

Trey burke iso shooting 45% from deep....why doesn't he take more 3s...idk...but maybe we should explore playing him like knight and let him be the bench scorer vs facilitator
Pay your beals....or its lights out!!!
Bron, Bosh, Wade is like Mike, Hakeem, barkley...3 top 5 picks from same draft

Burke only gets good looks from 3 when he plays with Wall. Wall makes so many players better but he can't play 48 minutes a game. Burke can't be a bench scorer because he has trouble creating his own shot. The only thing he has is the mid-range pull-up off a screen (isn't too efficient).

LOL, Twolves fans have all agreed that they would be okay with trading Rubio and Shabazz for John Wall.

If Sato continues his improvement at PG it may actually work out for the best for Burke.
We won't see him much as PG, where he's shown he can't produce.
But he may get a chance to play SG with Wall in certain rotations. It's not like there's much competition at SG - Thornton/McClellan?

Lavine at 13 was fine. Same with Dieng at 21, Shabazz at 14. KAT looks like the real deal. Wiggins... flirting with becoming a disappointment.
Rubio at 5 was not great but Flynn at 6, after taking Rubio and with Curry still available, was an epic failure. Completely inexcusable.

I remember on draft night they said Rubio and Flynn could play together...

Williams was a disappointment, but it seemed the wide consensus at the time was that he would succeed and merited being picked. Johnson and especially Flynn were more iffy picks. Maybe someone on the Wolves had a Syracuse connection?

Wow, that's an awful trade! I don't even know where to start. Phoenix should be giving up picks to trade his albatross of a contract.
What makes you think a team like the Wizards can afford to trade multiple 1st rd picks for a terrible one-dimensional player?

He is capable of being a reliable scorer which the 2nd unit lacks. He was close to 20ppg last year on a bad team. He can score which is what the 2nd unit needs.

Can't see Burke at the 2. He wouldn't defend the position very well, and in any case McClellan has been a zillion times more productive. In fact, Sheldon has been quite good & should eat up all the minutes at the backup 2. & I agree that Satoransky should get all the backup PG minutes.

LOL you got me there.
They did pick Ty Lawson @#19 in '09 -- just a little bit better player than Johnny Flynn....
Wes Johnson has actually turned into a reasonably good player the last couple of years, but he was a flop as a pick.
They also picked Glenn Robinson #40 in '14, and he's turned out to be pretty good too -- but for the Pacers!
In 2010 they picked Luke Babbitt #16, then they traded #23 to us and we took Trevor Booker -- much better player. In return for that #23, they got the right to grab Lazar Hayward & Paolo Prestes. Some more clever maneuvering huh?
