Finally lineup/rotation definitive?

Post#1 » by mcmurphy » Wed Jan 18, 2017 9:26 am

If we look the 4-man lineup of the season (with at least 80 mins played) we find the following situation:

Image

The clearly better 4-man lineup is:

Mudiay - x - Gallo - Faried - Jokic

with a stratospheric NetRtg of +30.1.

This is the last core starting lineup which has arrived (finally) Malone where the SG could be Harris/Barton/Murray or even Nelson.

The 3rd 4-man lineup is:

Nelson - Murray - x - Chandler - Nurkic

with a good NetRtg of +14.2.

This is the core bench lineup where the SF/PF could be Barton/Hernangomez/DA.

Note also the pretty good DefRtg of the 2 core lineup (101 and 98).

I hope that Malone confirm this rotation... because otherwise

Makes sense - but I don't think Malone pays attention to advanced statistics

Im getting really excited. The offense is absolutely ROLLING right now.

If Mudiay can just cut down the turnovers and the 2nd unit can play a little better we're gonna run away with the 8 seed.

I talked to a buddy in the FO today. Everyone is excited right now it's finally coming together

Talk to your buddy in the FO and suggest they learn how to build a D-fence. :lol:

Can't say this is the lineup I expected, but can't argue with the results.

Before Jokic starting as C
First 25 games (10H-15R)
9W-16L OffRtg= 102.7(18) DefRtg= 107.4(25) NetRtg= -4.7(25)

Since Jokic starting as C
Last 19 games (12H-7R)
10W-9L OffRtg= 114.4(2) DefRtg= 112.9(30) NetRtg= +1.5(10)

This improvement appears to be caused by the higher number of games at HOME.
Actually if we look at the last 8 games (4 at Home and 4 on the Road, 5 team with record >0.500) the improvement is significant, indicating a better chemistry and defense.

Last 8 games Nuggets (4H-4R), 5W-3L, OffRtg= 115.2(2) DefRtg= 108.1(20) NetRtg= +7.1(3)
(the first game, Loss @OKC Jokic did not play)

A Team with NetRtg= +7.0 ==> similar a Team with Expected win 58-24
A Team with NetRtg= +1.5 ==> similar a Team with Expected win 45-37
