How is Rudy's defense?

I'm not sure, but he has all of the physical traits to be a great defender. Long, athletic.

He isn't as elite as his physical attributes would make you think he was but overall he would be an improvement defensively for us.

He would only be an improvement defensively if he was traded for an inferior defensive player. He's not a better defender than Luc or Johnson, but as we've seen in Memphis he shouldn't hurt a good teams defense either.

He can't guard Durant or Kawhi or Lebron though, which is what matters here. You'd have to be playing Luc or Wes in those match ups, so it makes little sense to spend assets in getting him. Plus, he can't even space the floor too much, his value comes with the ball in his hands so he'd just be another Crawford taking possessions from better offensive players than him, only he can't even stretch the floor when he's off the ball the way Jamal does. I swear I have a hard time finding a worse SF fit for this roster than Rudy freakin Gay.
