This is a bit old, but nice to see some evidence that last season wasn't a fluke.

MARVIN WILLIAMS just sunk 586 3's from the corner before missing 2 in a row, 785 total. WHAT. A. BALLER.

If that is saying he made 586 out of 785, that's right at 75%. That's pretty good.

Safe to say Marvin is basically Steph Curry and Kevin Durant combined now. Move over Golden State, there's a new super team in the NBA.

Have to wonder if the broken finger is at least partially responsible.

Recent schedule and facing Love, Lebron, Kat, Millsap, and Davis in consecutive games probably didn't help matters.

I'd also keep his minutes closer to 26-27 by sliding MKG there a few when Lamb returns.

Really stinks, the guy has a beautiful release but you know the broken finger is affecting it. he gets so many open threes.

We all know that Marvin is struggling with his 3pt shooting, but what is being overlooked is his struggles in the paint as well.

Marvin is shooting...
25.7% on shots less than 8 ft (35 attempts)
30.8% on shots less than 5 ft (26 attempts)
32.0% on shots in restricted area (25 attempts)
17.6% on shots in paint, non-restricted (17 attempts)
30.4% on layups (23 attempts)

His overall FG% is actually lower than his sad 3pt%

Last year he shot over 50% on every one of those categories listed above. Marvin's problems are deeper than just his jumper not falling.

It's almost like he's playing with a broken hand.

http://www.nba.com/hornets/charlotte-hornets-injury-update-11/26/16

November 26, 2016 – The Charlotte Hornets announced that forward Marvin Williams underwent a Magnetic Resonance Image (MRI) today which revealed a bone bruise on his left knee consistent with his previously diagnosed hyperextended left knee. The MRI also showed that Williams withstood no structural damage to his knee.

Williams will be out tonight against the New York Knicks and he will be re-evaluated in one week. He suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Hornets game at New York last night.

Good news, we were due some.

Might as well let him rest until his hand is sorted out too.

Yep, that's what I'm thinking. Some time off could do him well.

I was guessing bone bruise after the way he was able to walk off on his own but was clearly in pain and hobbled. Reminded me of how i reacted after I got a bone bruise in my knee from a hyperextension.

i'm pretty certain 'resting' his hand wont do anything, think he could do surgery and be out most the year or play with the discomfort. like kobe back in the late 00s. im also 100% convinced his hand injury is bothering his shooting.

I would much rather see dude sit out and get healthy. I think frank would play better if given the starting spot.

while many have taken note of Marvin's shooting woes this year, I think his absence this last week has shown how important he is to the team's defense

Marv's shooting came back to life a bit after he came back from injury. In 13 games in December he was 46.2% FG and 37.7% 3PT. Behind only Belinelli and Cody in TS%.
