Gonna be funny when everyone on GSW wants a new big money deal and they break up.
GSW sold out the Oracle 200+ games in a row and has a 30,000 waiting list for season tickets. May be a fat payroll but they WILL keep the core quite awhile longer.
The heat didn't last as long as people thought and neither will Golden State. Superteams have a finite shelf life before they fall apart. The Warriors still have to go against a very motivated Lebron for the next few years. Lebron will win some titles in that stretch and they are just an injury away from not making it out of the west. (The Spurs didn't just die when Tim Duncan retired) We all thought the heat would win every year they were together and they only won 2 out of 4 years. That's actually still impressive considering how hard it is to make it that far and win year after year. Heck they probably should only have won 1 time considering the Spurs could have sealed the deal in 2014, but Ray Allen was a superhero.
The top four guys are probably going to stay, but the roster around them will get thinner and thinner as time goes on. Its hard to win year after year when your bench is older veterans and late first round young players. Ask the Miami heat and they had the best player in the world at his absolute peak.
5-6 years is way to long a window. 2-3 years is realistic. The west isn't going to just sit and wait over the next few years. Teams will be aggressive trying to either improve to beat Golden State or outlast them with younger players.
