IT and Lou on the same team? Don't think it would work.

Pairing a rookie with AB will do nothing but set this franchise back. At least you know IT wins you games...a lot of games.

I'm one that believes Danny Ainge and the Celtics management could care less about this season. It's all about free agency and the draft next year.
It's beginning to look that way to me as well. What's the purpose of all that cap space anyway? If they are saving it for Hayward, he doesn't make them a contender because he doesn't solve the rebounding probmlem. And if they're saving it for another shot at Durant, that train ain't coming any time soon.

The real benefit I see from him is that he'd be a solid piece to put in a bigger trade. If you're trying to trade for an established big it'd be great to have a young big to add picks to and send in the other direction. I think a guy like Nurkic rounds out trade packages much better than that Memphis pick.

No. Not worth it if you're sitting at #1. Take the best player in the draft and keep moving.
I would definitely consider dealing them AB for Noel and the worse of their two 2017 picks though. I saw it proposed by a Sixer fan on the T&T board and I think the majority of their fanbase wouldn't be up for it, but as they continue to win it's looking increasingly likely that they end up with a worse pick than the Lakers.
It'd essentially be the Sixers betting on themselves in the 2nd half of the year with AB and Simmons being added to the squad that they'll end up as an end of the lottery team. If they end up in the 11-14 range it's a great deal for them. If they end up in the 8-10 range it's fair. And if it ends up being top 7 Boston gets a steal.
We could add Fultz with #1 move Smart to SG full-time to replace AB and then still take a shot on Giles' knees. If I'm not mistaken we'd still have the chance at grabbing Hayward too (move Smart to 6th man role). Then go into the tax to resign IT/Smart summer of 2018 (plus the BKN pick being added):
IT/Fultz/Rozier
Hayward/Smart
Crowder/Brown
Horford/Giles
Noel/Zizic/Mickey
Yes please.

That Mem pick could be a top 10 pick eventually.. I'm not trading anything of value for Nurkic. He's slow and unathletic and isn'[t a great rebounder. We dont need him. I think Zizic is better already.
