Biyombo looked great when he had competent teammates in DeRozan and Lowry

Biyombo was great in the ECF.

Valanciunas had injury trouble throughout the year so Biyombo started a lot of games

I like Biyombo over Dedmon. I've explained why before. If the Magic commit to a switch defense, Bismack will make a lot more sense for us and people will like him more. Right now, it is safe to say that our defensive scheme needs some work.

Yea, it was a decent sized mistake.

Lol. Dedmon can't guard the post, I bet Chris Paul could back him down. He's got good hops because he's so thin but he can't physically guard at the 5 for any extended time.

Couldn't be more wrong

I like Dedmon and I was really hoping he could develop into a starter, but he can get demolished in the post. He's a good weak side shot blocker.

If Dedmon guarded Howard for an entire game, he'd get 50.

Most likely he wanted to play for a team where he'd have more of a chance to shine and then cash out next summer (the second year of his contract is a player option which he'll probably decline) after improving his reputation in the league. Biyombo did the same last summer and it worked like a charm for him.

Perhaps. But regardless of how it might've played out, Dedmon wasn't going to earn much this season. He would've been a restricted free agent if we didn't renounce him to clear a bit more cap space to throw at one of the underwhelming targets we ultimately signed.

Yep, another panic move by the GM. Let's give $72m to a backup center!

And now if he wants to move him he'll probably have to add something, seeing as how nobody in their right mind would actually want Biyombo, or consider him as a final piece to a team.

I mean Dwight Howard makes only $3m more per season and hate him or love him his production actually coincides with his salary. You can't even give the ball to Biyombo on offense!

Who has demolished Dedmon in the post? He is slim but you are acting like he is manute bol. He is 7'0, 245-250.

If Deadman wasn't dumb as a post, he could be great. Bizmark ain't smart either, but he is smarter, hustles much harder and goes all out when playing. But, neither is solid individually on defense. They both rely on their instincts over BBIQ. Bizmarks just a bit faster on the instinctive side and more physical as well.

But, if it came to a choice between the two while factoring the money they make, Deadman by a mile. If money was not a factor, Bizmark for sure.

Biz is fine against small Centers. Tristan's a PF that's playing Center so that was a perfect storm for him to thrive in and raise his value. Not mad at him at all. Get paid.
