Looking at that team. Smart, Kawhi and Adams...It's well on its way to being my favorite defense in this BAT.

I don't get what it is you're not seeing...Beverley is a very solid spot up 3pt shooter...Barton is shooting over 40% from 3 and has been very serviceable throughout his career and Crowder has been a respectable 3pt shooter as well.
SHOOTING is NOT the issue...though I'm sure one can make the argument that SCORING is.
That's a really small sample size for Barton. Dude is a career 32% from 3 he's had one decent year and only takes about 3 3's a game...extremely small sample size. There is a difference between Jj redick 42% and Barton. I simply don't believe Barton will get anywhere close to 40% for the season. He's numbers will even out
Obviously there is a difference between he and JJ Redick, just like there is between he and Danny Green or he and anyone else already selected up until this point, and anyone else being drafted after him. You can't discredit what he's doing this season, especially factoring that this is a win-now competition based on player progression up until the point of this season...He's only 26 and has steadily improved his offensive game over the last few seasons.
He's got a defined role in Denver, creating his own opportunities off the dribble, but also playing off a certain Eddy Curry who has a similar style, but not nearly the skill or unique ability to do if from a mismatched position that bwgood/slice's Giannis creates...
I understand he's in your conference, but attack the real issue (his scoring) and not something that is actually above average as a collective unit behind Giannis.

Which is still a serviceable line from a guy who is a rock solid fit with the playing style and complimentary pieces on his roster...
This is the 4th round...the perfect player is no longer available. Now you are looking for the perfect fits...which is where we will start to see some separation between these rosters.

Can't disagree with that point. Still plenty of draft left to build around, though. Scoring can definitely be added - however the identity of this team is something that is also a major plus during playoff time. Intense defense mixed with ball movement and 3 pt shooting.
I'll also echo the same that scoring will be an issue. Need one or two more guys that can score with decent usage. Definitely still plenty of draft left.

Repeat after me:
You´re talking about shooting MP? When you´re fielding a team that would dominate in the 90s!?
You´re talking about scoring Smash? When Toronto was putting up missing posters for Lowry last year?!
Now that´s how we have productive conversations around here

Re: Build a Team 17.0 Rules and Discussion Thread
I'm a big fan of Will Barton, that dude is a PLAYER. He's really responded whenever the Nuggets needed something on the offensive end. He's pretty much competent at everything or better. My thing about that unit is I think Giannis at PF would be interesting when bigger bodied guys start slamming into him all night. But I really can't gauge his motor because it seems never ending thus far.

Oh I love his defense and slashing ability I consider Barton and crowder more slashers. I mean while I don't want to discount this year I also would believe his career #'s more. Basically I will live with Beverly and Barton beating me from the perimeter. Whether that kills me so be it. But you have to keep Giannis out of the paint.....he's so so so good

Definitely hear your points, but I think the way the roster is currently built around Giannis - it suits him real well.
It is still early in the draft process - only 3 teammates so far, but there is a very solid identity built. The team is built to not only slash but all 3pt shooters you have to respect around Giannis, the team defense is one of the top in the BAT so far I'd have to think - there are a couple others out there who have solid, top tier d as well. Also, underrated is the playmaking - high iq players who move the ball..not to mention there will never be a lack of effort or hustle from anyone on this roster.
