Well, that would be one nice team to have, even without Wade...

I agree that Porter is a good target in free agency but I am sure that depends on what the Nuggets plan to do with Gallo. A max is not out of the question. Except for the obvious choices who are unlikely to leave, this is not a great free agent class. I also think the Nuggets are in a good position to grab a free agent if a good one is available.

I would not trade Harris for Wade. First, I think Harris has a future in the NBA at least as a good backup. Second, I think Wade is on the decline just like Melo. Wade is no longer the difference maker he once was. He would have been a good pickup to fill up the seats however.
Canned in Denver.

When I started my career I worked with a couple of guys who were a little older than me. There was another guy who was among the best in the industry but was ready to retire. I used to spend my free time asking and learning everything I could from the guy while my buddies thought I was crazy. He taught me the tricks and how to stay docked. A few years later those buddies were working for a company I owned. Learning from a superstar in my field accelerated my growth beyond belief, and that is why I want Wade. Who cares if he us only a 25 mpg player for the next 2 years? I want as championship, **** overpaying for a good SF, if you can develop the young guys to their potential that position can be filled later.

The Rebel wrote:Oubre and dekker are both on rookie deals and will continue to be on rookie deals next year, if you really wanted you could still trade for either of those guys using the veterans we have on the team right now. Washington was rumored to offer Arthur more than he accepted to come here last summer and they reportedly want Barton, what if you could give them Arthur and Barton for Oubre, Smith, and a future pick? Then maybe trade Faried, Chandler, and a pick or two for Favors?

If you could put together a team like
Mudiay/ Murray/
Wade/ Murray/ Beasley
Gallo/ Oubre
Favors/ Hernan-Gomez
Jokic/ Nurkic

and have Wade leading them, what does this team become? Even if you lost Gallo this summer, you can replace him with a draft pick, and let that pick, Oubre, and Beasley compete for the minutes.

Agree with your entire post but this last section has me getting excited. Oh my goodness. To get that line-up, I'd even throw in Gallinari also.

Not sure Favors will be a good fit long-term but he's a true professional with a great attitude and some nice skills. His style is somewhat similar to Jokic, enough that he could help him learn.

Love your guard lineup and if we had to surrender to Gallinari, a backup SF would be fairly easy to find (not at his quality, but ...) Now, if we could get Gallinari motivated to play defense like he did 4 or 5 years ago; I'd keep him without question.

Only question would be Nurkic; will we be able to keep him happy and engaged?
