Jokic had a really impressive December with 17 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 4.9 apg on .675 FG% and .385 3P% in 25.7 minutes per game. Those numbers are even higher half way through January with 20 ppg, 10 rpg, 5.8 apg on .612 FG% and .571 3P% in 27.8 minutes per game. Hes been flirting with his first career triple double pretty regularly and looks more and more comfortable playing a lead role in the offense. As shown above, he also has the highest PER of any sophomore.

The really scary part about Jokic is that he still has a lot physically that he can improve on. He just doesn't really have an NBA body yet. A bit of hard work in the weight room and he has an enormous ceiling.

I am usually the last guy to praise our team or players, especially in a venue like this but goddamn. If you don't like watching Jokic you don't like basketball. He'll put the Nugs back on the map.

Today 30 pts on 13-19 shooting, 11 boards, 5 assists (which were all just filthy) and 3 steals.

Right now, with a string of good games, he's at:
-0.1 OBPM, -2.8 DPBM, -2.9 BPM, -.3 VORP, TS% of of 52.1% & PER 13.8.

He has such a old man at the YMCA game. I love watching him make guys look silly out there with the stuff he pulls off.

20+ points in 8 straight games for Booker. 28.4 ppg on .631 TS% during that stretch.

Not going to lie, for a long time I do my checking of ESPN, NBATV and TNT to see whos being televised that night. The past month ive been checking Altitude sports to see who the Nuggets are playing. If they arent playing a trash team ill record it and watch it. He definitely has sparked my interest in Nuggets ball, might have to go to a game soon, especially with how cheap Nugget tickets are.

I'll confess to never watching Jokic in a full game...only the clips they're showing here on the forum. He's puzzling...it looks like he's running in cement and can't jump over a piece of paper. I don't know how he's doing it. But nobody is stopping him from scoring. Weak defender though.
He appears to be a very smart and skilled player, but how he does it without exhibiting much in the way of athleticism is a mystery to me.

I've watched every game he's played, this year and last (imagine that a Nuggets' fan watching the Nuggets LOL). Anyway, he doesn't compare to Larry Bird in any respect except that like you say, "it looks like he's running in cement and can't jump over a piece of paper. I don't know how he's doing it. But nobody is stopping him from scoring." Bird always seemed a step slow and seldom jumped much, but ... ... Last night Jokic hit a standing over-the-head two-handed shot right over Wiggins (who could have blocked it IF he had jumped) - left me shaking my head.

As for your "Weak defender though". There was a graphic floating around a little while ago showing bigs with "Rim Protector" vs "FG% in the Paint" and Jokic came out very nice on opponents' FG% in the paint when he's in the game. He just seems to get in their way there too even though "it looks like he's running in cement". LOL

But you pegged him pretty close for sure.

No way I EVER cheer for Dekker - unless he's on the Nuggets. Love that guy's game all night long!

Booker is showing some elite offensive skills this month. His defense still needs to catch up but I don't see a scenario where he doesn't play in at least a few allstar games during his career.

I brought up a sore subject for my fellow Laker fans last year that D'Angelo Russell looks horrible. I got killed for it. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm right.

I shouldn't even respond to this, but D'angelo Russell has been injured for a large part of the year, and that is affecting his play. His stats aren't that horrible anyways, except for his shooting percentage.

I highly suggest the next time you get a chance to watch him to do so. He really is one of a kind type talent in the league right now. You basically nailed it all except the defending part. He is pretty slow, all of his movements are pretty slow, he may have the lowest vertical in the league as well haha. But the dude is so freaking skilled and so freaking smart. Hes already the best passing big with the best vision and he just knows how to score, it doesnt matter how big or athletic the guy guarding him is, hes too crafty. Defensively hes kind of like Marc Gasol, not going to wow you with blocks or anything like that, hes just a big boy with great IQ and awareness so he just knows where he needs to be and when he needs to get there. Hes a very fun guy to watch.
