this is good, its promising. but its not really anything special. over a 5 game span he is is top 5 among rookies in 1 category. is that really all that impressive?

basically, in a super small sample (5 games) he is in the top 15 percentile among another small sample (rookies, 60-70 active currently).

i mean i can see rookie of the month, top 5 in all categories for 10 games even...

He's blowing by elite defenders and racked up 12 assists in the last two games. He's way ahead of schedule and he's showing he is the real deal.

He's statistically showing he's got the potential to be an efficient scorer. His current TS% is upping to a near 59 TS%. The other rookies with similar TS% are Embiid, Hernangomez, Murray.

Dejounte Murray and LeVert are the only efficient rookies guards out right now.

12 assists in 2 game is nice, although again a small sample, and one tough to go on given in one of the games our opponent allowed 140+ points.

i think he will be a good player. maybe a good starter. but this "two way all-star" and "very special player" and "better then anyone outside of ingram/simmons" talk is really going overboard

You're welcome to have tempered expectations, but I don't think anyone who has seen him play is going overboard if they're talking about his possible potential, his iq is off the charts and is showing that he can score a variety of ways and is always looking to make the correct basketball play. He's showing exactly why people were saying he had lottery level talent.

It's cause for optimism. What should temper expectations is not his skills but his ability to stay healthy based off of his medical history, but thats about it.

It's not saying much, but when he already looks like he's the best player on the floor for our team at this age, it gives this team a lot of hope going forward once he matures and we add more talent with him.

what your saying here all makes sense.... but if you look back its alot of stuff like he is better then Jaylen brown or is (not might or can be) going to be an all-star.

I mean right now how many wings are there in the league his age or younger with his potential or better? maybe 1 on about 20-25 other teams?

I like the kid alot. for all the reasons you listed. I just think a 5-10 game stretch where he isnt rookie of the week/month is a bit to start going crazy over. very promising, but its not like he is tearing up the league either.

Also, being the best player on a 9-33 team with the least talent in the league doesnt say much. not that that is his fault.

I just would hate to see the kid get hated on if/when he doesnt become a full time starter or all-star.

I think we also need to see what he can do as a starter in games that are competitive before we can really judge his ceiling. 15/5/5 in a 140 point win? hard to really put stock in games like that.

I definitely agree fans are going overboard based on a very small sample, see Brooks, MarShon and even RHJ.

But... but... I think he's shown his skillset, style of play and physical attributes, along with his BBIQ, drive and resiliency is something which must be acknowledged.

IDK if I see full on star, but if he remains healthy and keeps this up, I still see a lot of Khris Middleton and Eddie Jones, or high end of a young skinny, shooting guard Pierce to his game.

Maybe he falls off when teams get tape on him, aka never grows and remains a taller, non-psycho Delonte West, but I think although to the extreme, the optimism is warranted, even if not completely reasonable.

Wow, it's great to finally get a win.

Some serious eye-candy (bball porn?) there!

Some spectacular plays by the rooks; LVJ's all around game(especially at the end of the 1st half), iHead's spin move/between the leg pass, RHJ finally dunking with both feet.

Good stuff from Brook and Bogs as well.

Acy might have been a game changer. The guy who was unemployed a few days ago is doing all the right things and making a great impact. His shot is more money than Mayweather.

SKil has been in a serious slump, can't believe he was playing so well just a while ago. Not having him helps. As much as I like Booker, not having his lazy slapping and his unwillingness to shoot probably helped as well.

Did the Pels make a mistake not to play Asik? AD can't guard Brook very well if he's on. DMo's pretty soft as well.

Otherwise apparently they've been playing good D lately.

This game shows what the potential this team has down the road with everyone healthy and motivated.

It's not out of the question that with Lin not traveling, guys are more focused on what's at hand rather than thinking of coulda.

No more 15 games losing streak away! Unbelievable!

Thanks for the honesty.
