the defense part is just missing a bit, dont get me wrong he is okayish there, but not really a top notch defensive player, good shooter tho

He guards the opposing teams best wing. He also plays with several other guards (ball/holiday/Alford) and still is able to be effective without sky high usage.
USA Celtics in full effect. Amazing chemistry building experience right there for the main core of the team

Proceeds to finish 7th and shames the entire nation!

I mean ofc he does, he is playing with non defenders otherwise, been the best perimeter defender in UCLA is damning with faint praise

He does kind of, but Brogdon had a much better handle and was much more comfortable being his team's first option. Morgan is more hesitant about taking shots and clearly has the role player mentality.

Short version is that Brogdon has a better offensive game and Morgan looks better on defense to me.

Fischella wrote:Yeah but Morgan is well-known around here I'd say, some guys had him top20 already, I guess he could be a sleeper in a more broader sense yup.
Is he really? I don't even recall anyone else mentioning him here. I only found out about him after looking up Wes Washpun for last year's draft.

Unfortunately, Northern Iowa lost a lot of talent last year and they aren't performing well in the MVC. It should be interesting who he signs with agent wise and who he ends up working out against.
UNI has been brutal to watch at times, so he certainly isn't going to get media attention even if he wins MVC player of the year or whatever. I'm actually trying to help him get noticed though, I have a friend who's friends with Mike Woodson. I figure that the Clippers could use a wing who plays defense. I'm not exactly expecting anything to come of it but I think that he deserves a shot.

Don't know if he qualifies as a 'sleeper', but Josh Hart is projected to be a late 1st/early 2nd. I think he has a good chance of being a top 10 player from this draft.

What have others seen in his game.

Well, scouts know the MVC, I mean Ron Baker (NY) and Fred Van Vleet (TOR) were not drafted last year although they are both in the league and Wes Washpun (his former teammate) is playing in the D-League in Iowa. He's having a really big senior year, which means he will be invited to Portsmouth and he will probably get to play in the senior all-star game at the Final Four, which will give him another showcase for scouts.

If Morgan can play in the NBA, he will get there. Hopefully, he is invited to the NBA combine. Joel Bolomboy was drafted by Utah out of Weber State, even though they have a ton of bigs. Morgan seems to have good size for a SG as well.

I like Johnathon Motley, think hes more easily projectable as a solid role player in the NBA than the other people currently being projected at the end of the 1st.

Also, DX currently has Kaba at 55 (LOL?), I think he goes in the 1st round, and is still a solid sleeper to return better value than the late first.

Not sure what I should consider sleeper but Anas Mahmoud (Louisville) should be talked about more. A mobile and long rim protector who can switch onto Guards and does not actively hurt your offense should have some value for teams around the league - especially on a non-guaranteed contract. He has been one of the most impressive defenders I've seen this year.

Cassius Winston (Michigan State) and De'Anthony Melton (USC) have come around nicely as of late but both are not going to declare this year, I'd assume, so they aren't exactly being slept on as far as this year's draft is concerned. Still, they are two players to keep an eye on.

I've also liked what I've seen of Sindarius Thornwell (South Carolina) this year although I'm not sure if his skill set (mainly his scoring) really translates into the NBA. Could be worth a shot in the second round if a team could use a player like him off the bench in theory, though.

Thornwell is a bully at this level, I am not sure with his age If he will translate well, but he is worth a camp invite at least.
Agreed on the others but I dont expect any of them to come out this year.

Miles Bridges is my guy. idk if he's a sleeper but lots of mocks have him mid/late 1st round and I honestly like him just as much as I liked Jalyn Brown last year. Probably like Bridges more tbh.

dude has "it" and will be a great pro. He should come out and if he does he'll be a 1st rounder. He reminds me of Antoine Walker pre 3pt chucker or Milsap. Other guys have more hype, might measure better, are younger...blah blah blah and he'll fall a long way. A smart team like the Spurs will snag him late 1st

Yes Paul Millsap is an excellent comparison.

I only use draftexpress, it's pretty good and a go to for most people I think.

I think they're all really bad at mocking and big boards. They mostly just go with groupthink. It is fun to see how wrong they get it every year. Don't go there thinking you are seeing inside info from sources. It's mostly guesswork and pretty laughable insight. But you do have all the information in one convenient good looking package and they stay on top of things like measurements and high school prospects. Occasionally they have informative articles.

Personally hate their mock drafts, but I think they give very good analysis and I love to hear from guys that work there.

Mock drafts have been one of my favorite things since I was 14 but lately I've started to ignore them. Much better to spend time studying specific prospects to determine who is undervalued and overvalued, than it is trying to guess which team takes who where. It's most satisfying (and impressive imo) to hype an unknown prospect as a future lottery pick or NBA star, who then turns into a lottery pick or NBA star, than it is to correctly guess who picks who at #3 or #17 overall. :)

Draftexpress.com and NBAdraft.net are great resources for becoming familiar with strengths, weaknesses, measurements, etc.. but nothing beats watching the actual game.

I know it's the easy comparison for undersized 4's but Michael Young of Pitt reminds me of a short armed Paul Millsap. Probably keeps him out of the NBA, but really have enjoyed watching him play today.

Random observation: Jamel Artis dribbles like lebron.
