No. Because it's about the team. You know I feel like the team plays better with Lamb on the floor. The last thing I'd want is for Batum to get injured for Clifford to realize this because we'll get worse in the short term but sometimes it causes for desperate measures to get better in the long term. I mention all the time that it takes injuries for the worst sometimes to force Clifford's hand to do what he should've been doing all along for us to get better.

I'm not turning this into a Lamb thread, so I will reply elsewhere.

Except last night Sessions was given additional SG run. A few weeks ago Lamb started when Batum was out. When MKG missed time Treveon started. In the PO's Clifford double switched Cody for Al + Frank. And of course Marco starting is an option too.

That's the thing ---- who starts isn't a face value decision. Clifford may prioritize playmaking or just roll with a placeholder to preserve his rotation.

1-2 weeks Is lucky. Maybe the rest will do him some good. Just hope we don't go winless in his absence

He usually plays terrible hurt and we like to bring back guys too soon. So might as well use the 2weeks so this is less likely to be another repetitive injury like last season

I've actually been mostly pretty pleased with Nic's play this season, but his defense is frustrating and I can't understand how he possibly has lost so much athleticism already. I have a bad feeling his contract is going to be a nightmare in a couple years.

Not sure how you could be pleased. If we could move his deal I'd be all for it.

Batum is 206th in the NBA in 4th quarter points per game behind the likes of Belinelli, Lamb, Kaminsky, and Marv on the team.

In the 4th quarter this season Batum is averaging 2.4ppg on 31% shooting (30% on 3s).

Definitely a problem. He's also 6th on our team in Q4 FGAs.

You can tell how not a score first mentality he has just by comparing him to someone like Frank and Marco, who both are very willing passers and try to create for others but also who are not hesitant to pull the trigger.

What I said about Batum before signing him off-season stayed true. He is a good but not great player, a guy who is not a go to scorer, does not have a scorer mentality, and has not been a very good shooter. Contract is too rich for what you get.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

I don't blame Batum, the management made the decision to offer the big contract.
