Yes. Major red flags due to character issues. Randy Gregory type issues.

Mitch Trubisky - QB - Tar Heels

Walter Football's Charlie Campbell reports that the Jets have yet to begin their due diligence on North Carolina QB Mitch Trubisky.

In mid-December, the New York Daily News reported that the Jets were "all over" Trubisky. It looks like that might have been putting the cart before the horse, though. "When I told this to Jets sources, they rolled their eyes and shook their head," writes Campbell from the Senior Bowl. "They said that general manager Mike Maccagnan has them work more in depth on early entry players later in the process and not during the fall, so it is way too early to say that for almost any non-senior." Campbell further relays that the Jets are happy with the progress Christian Hackenberg has made behind the curtain. If this is actually true, then the odds of the Jets drafting a quarterback in the early rounds this spring drop precipitously.

They should've stopped at "happy with the progress Hackenberg has made behind the curtain". Once they said that they might've as well just screamed smokescreen.

And you can't tell me a QB needy team isn't looking at QB prospects throughout the year regardless if they would be an early entry or not. Like they would treat an early entry QB prospect the same as they would an early entry LB prospect.

Cam Robinson - T - Crimson Tide

Walter Football's Charlie Campbell received conflicting opinions from NFL team sources regarding the future position of Alabama T Cam Robinson.

Per Campbell, some evaluators "say they see Robinson as a late first-rounder who would be an ideal right tackle." One NFL source was vehemently against flipping the 6-foot-6, 323-pounder from the left side to the right side, though telling Campbell, it could hurt Robinson's development if he is asked to switch off from left tackle. A rock-solid bet for the first round, C-Rob could climb as high as the top 10 or find himself sliding into the 20's come this spring's draft.

One of my favorite prospects in this entire draft. A change of pace back--a nice complement back up for Hyde. I wouldn't draft him no earlier than the 4th round though. Too much talent, or should I say more pressing need for us between rounds 1-3:

Donnel Pumphrey - RB - Aztecs

San Diego State RB Donnel Pumphrey was returning punts during Senior Bowl practice on Tuesday.

Pumphrey is a possible pick for late on Day 2 or early on Day 3. Should he take to return duties in rapid fashion, that would certainly be something that could enhance his value for NFL squads. However, it should be noted that (predictably) San Diego State's star back returned just five kickoffs in his career with the Aztecs and did not return a punt.

He was a fringe first round prospect to begin with. This injury will certainly cause him to fall out and potentially last until the mid / late second round:

Takkarist McKinley - DL - Bruins

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline relays that UCLA edge rusher Takkarist McKinley will decide whether or not to undergo shoulder surgery in the next two weeks.

It was reported last week that McKinley was suffering from a torn right labrum, something he has fought through over the last two seasons. "At this point," Pauline writes, "it’s not known if surgery is even required, and it’s something his team hopes to avoid if possible." If he does undergo the procedure, it would likely come after the NFL Scouting Combine.

I'm happy he chose not to participate in the senior bowl. Providing him with more time to train for the combine, mastering the QB drills he's going to be asked to perform. When he blows him out with his performance at the combine, it will cause the Browns to fall in love with him. They're going to then not risk it and force to draft him with their #1 overall pick, causing Myles Garrett to fall on our laps.

Deshaun Watson - QB - Tigers

Walter Football's Charlie Campbell relays that some "quarterback-needy teams" view Clemson QB Deshaun Watson's decision to skip the Senior Bowl as a mistake.

"At the end of the day," Campbell writes, "this decision won't really be held against Watson, but it was a missed opportunity to impress NFL evaluators." The Senior Bowl would have provided Watson a chance to show his chops in a pro-style offense, something he did not experience running Clemson's system during his brilliant collegiate career. While it might irk a few teams that Watson is skipping the Senior Bowl, we agree with Campbell that this won't have a long-term effect on the quarterback's draft stock. He will have plenty of chances to convince teams he is worth a first-round pick over the coming months.

Johnathan Calvin - DL - Bulldogs

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline passes along that the Jets twice interviewed Mississippi State DE Johnathan Calvin during the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl practice week.

Still very early in the process, of course, but Pauline relays that Jets GM Mike Maccagnan took part in one of the team's interviews of Calvin. The analyst notes that NFL squads are intrigued by the 6-foot-3, 263-pounder's "athleticism, movement skills and pass-rushing ability." This past season, Calvin registered 55 tackles (12.0 for loss), seven sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles over the course of 13 games played.

You would seriously need to do your homework on the guy because talent wise it would be a steal but if he's in the Aldon Smith, Josh Gordon, Justin Blackmon, and Randy Gregory club he's rarely going to see the field.

I share those same concerns. Depending on what the background check reveals, the 2nd round pick might even be too much of a risk in terms of investment.

Deshaun Watson - QB - Tigers

Clemson HC Dabo Swinney said that if the Browns pass on QB Deshaun Watson with the first pick of the draft, it would be like passing on Michael Jordan.

While plenty of coaches step to bat for their players during draft season, Swinney has been about as vocal about Watson as a coach can be about a player. Not only in pumping up the gunslinger, but also in defending him against scouting scuttlebutt. To whit, after Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline wrote in mid-January that many scouts view Watson as a second-round prospect, Swinney said that those scouts should "lose their jobs." As for his most recent bit of draft fire-and-brimstone (so much as Swinney could possibly do fire-and-brimstone), there is one major logical hole. Because the Browns hold both the first and 12th picks in this spring's draft, they could conceivably draft Myles Garrett (or whomever they fancy) at one, then wait for Watson to swing down to them at No. 12.

Under the right conditions, many of us here would be for trading down the first-round pick.

But what about trading down the second-round pick, since there are so many second-round prospects that people like here?

Or of course, trade up for a first-round pick in the future or a pick between 25 and 34?

If Garrett is gone, I'm a big fan of a trade down. My hope is that the Titans absolutely fall in love with someone and look to move up

I have to admit that Watson proved me wrong. I underestimated him before this year and thought Kizer was the better of the 2 Deshawns. I have to say that he changed my mind. The dude's going to be good. Possibly very good.

I've always stated that he was a better version of Dak Prescott. He's not as gifted as Cam Newton but he reminds me of him at times. Deshaun is considered more refined than Cam as a passer at this point of their career--when comparing him with Cam when he was a prospect. If the Browns still had Pep Hamilton on their staff, that would have been a great place for him to land at to further develop his game.

Reuben Foster - LB - Crimson Tide

NJ.com's Mark Eckel spoke with one NFL scout who believes C.J. Mosley was a better prospect than Alabama LB Reuben Foster.

This is noteworthy, as some believe Foster might be the best inside linebacker to ever come out of Alabama. This is just one evaluator's opinion, but C.J. Mosley was a quality prospect and has been a starter since early in his rookie season. Foster is an absolute missile at the second level. A top 10 selection is likely in his future.

Zach Cunningham - LB - Commodores

NJ.com's Mark Eckel spoke with an NFL scout who ranks Vanderbilt LB Zach Cunningham as the Draft's best linebacker.

"I love him," the scout said. "He's big, fast, athletic, plays his (butt) off." The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder has 4.75 wheels and an impressive collegiate resume. This past season, Cunningham logged 125 tackles, 16.5 TFL, three passes defensed and two fumbles forced over 13 games. If he gets out of Round 1, he won't last long on Day 2.

Jets are the one I desire to trade with.

In a trade the 9ers would almost certainly get a future 1st rounder and with the Jets there is a reasonable chance that could be a top 10 pick. Imagine rolling into 2018 with two top 10 picks and not to mention the bounty of other picks the trade would net.
