We can play without Bradley if we improve our rebounding and defense. Noel brings both. He's a major upgrade over stiff Amir.
Draft one of Fultz/Jackson/Ball/Smith with the Nets pick and take a big with Sixers pick - Markkanen, Adebayo, Rabb, Anunoby or maybe even take a flyer on Giles (he'll slide out of top 10).

I actually really like this. Clears the way for Fultz and they don't have to pay Bradley (obviously have to pay Noel instead). It would take us out of max free agent status by adding a mid first and Noel's cap hold but they would still have around 20 million in room before having to pay Noel and go over the cap. Then next year you're looking at

Noel/Zizic
Horford/draft pick
Crowder/Brown
Fultz/Smart
Thomas/Rozier

With Yabs, Nader and Jackson rounding out the roster

We could open around 30mil before we give contract to Noel. Hell, if Hayward wants to come for max, i trade Crowder for more assets and sign Hayward.

Thomas/Rozier/Jackson
Fultz/Smart/
Hayward/Brown/Nader
Horford/Sixers 17 pick/Yabs
Noel/Zizic/

Hayward gives us legit 2nd scoring option. When Brown is ready to start, slide Hayward to SG. Let IT walk or trade for something, Fultz becomes our starting PG.

Ainge and company have done a remarkable job keeping trade discussions out of the public eye this season.

So the Celtics end up with Kevin Love which will just cement the Celtics position as an also ran.
Ainge please stay away

Love is a top 20 player who solves the 2nd scorer and rebounder problem. Who in the hell do you want?

Does that mean they want to get rid of Love? I'm not sure it does, but if so then bye bye AB

Seriously. He'd fit with Horford so perfect.

Cleveland in: Melo & Bradley
Cleveland out: Love

New York in: Zeller, Jerebko, Boston 18 1st, Memphis 19 1st
New York out: Melo

Boston in: Love
Boston out: Bradley, Zeller, Jerebko, Boston 18 1st, Memphis 19 1st

I think something needs to be taken away from Cleveland to make salaries work (X player would go to NY who can adsorb salary in this trade)

I put together a deal awhile ago that sent Noah and Melo to Cleveland, clearing a ton of salary for the Knicks, and got us Love at a relatively low price. Will have to dig up what it was.

Which I think leans toward him getting something done by the trade deadline. Lots of rumors meant no deals last year. Less rumors and hopefully a deal gets done this year.

Here's one that works in ESPN's Trade Machine:

Kevin Love, Jordan Mcrae (expiring) to Boston
Melo, Noah, Olynyk, Rozier to CLE
Shumpert, Zeller, Jerebko, Richard Jefferson to NYK

The Knicks would probably want more, we might want to keep Rozier, there may be other ways to make the money work - but it's a base structure where the Cavs get Melo and a veteran big, we get Love, and New York clears about 100 million in long-term salary committed to two players entering their mid 30's on a lottery team.

Love, Mcrae to BOS, Olynyk, Melo, Noah to CLE, Amir, Jerebko, Shumpert, Jefferson to NYK also works. They'd probably want BKN 17 or 18, and I'd be tempted to give it, if we can deal Rozier for Noel in a separate trade and get back a 1st from NY or CLE.

This is a vicious circle...first it was Cousins a couple months ago and now back to Kevin Love. We are stuck in some point in time... :P

**** is wild. Can't even rag on people for speculating but I may just have to peace out of this thread until the deadline. Frustrating to read this stuff that will never happen.

But, hey, for old time's sake:

I know the Cavs have been struggling .... But would they really deal Love in a 3 way?

I've really been trying to think up some deals for that guy in Denver. I think his name is...Danilo Gallinari?

I don't think the presence or absence of rumors correlates to the likelihood of a deal being done.
