We all know Melo has his issues. But so doesn't this roster. Melo would be an upgrade. I'd want him at the 4. If all it cost was Brown who will never succeed in Brad's system anyway? Get r done. Who else are we going to spend money on? Hayward? We already have Jae and Brown. Griffin? He isn't leaving LA. Getting Horford was a win now move. Of course we'd all prefer Butler or George but man...those deals aren't happening because they'd completely gut our team. We could get Melo for just Brown. They'd love to get out from under that contract and build around Porzingod. Brown would be a great building block to that end. Or are 13 frustrating minutes a game from Brown being a square peg in a round hole preventing people from wanting this?

Can Blake opt in for next season as part of a deal to Boston? If so, something like this might work

Boston out: Amir, Zeller, BK17, Memphis 18
Boston in: Blake, Pierce

LAC out: Blake, Pierce
LAC in: Melo, Memphis 2018 1st

NY out: Melo
NY in: Amir, Zeller, BK 17

Why for Boston: only makes sense if Blake is healthy and Blake opts in for next season. Pierce is part of the deal simply for sentimental reasons. He can ride it out on the bench in a Celtics uniform which is the uniform he needs to have on.

Why for LA: What they have isn't working. Hasn't worked. won't work. Need to shake it up. CP3 and Melo are good friends. Melo gives them a go-to scorer. they get a pick as well from Boston

Why for NY: Getting that BK 17 for Melo and 2 expirings is absolutely the best value they could possibly get in return for a 32 year old declining star. Phil should take it a run.

IT-AB-Crowder-Blake-Horford
Rozier-Smart-Brown-Jonas-KO Make a title push

CP3-Reddick-Melo-mbah a moute-Jordan
Rivers-Felton-Crawford-Johnson-Speights-Bass Maybe Melo fits in well and the Clippers get really interesting in the playoffs

NY- who cares. rebuilding and the BK 17 is a haul for them for Melo. plus cap space galore.

Im not trading the BKN17 for Blake. Guys who depend on their athleticism and have consistently hurt knees/legs do not usually work out.

Wouldn't give that up considering Blake could bolt in free agency for the Lakers and pursue his acting career...

Give me Melo
Give me Jimmy.
Give me PG.

All depends on what it costs.

I'm a firm believer that we will rebuild this thing through the draft. For now, get whoever you can to help our playoff run. But don't touch the Nets picks or Jaylen Brown.

Melo would improve our team at the end of the day.

If all it took to get Melo was expirings and non-Nets picks, then I say go for it. Outside of IT, this team has absolutely no one that can create their own shot with less than 5 seconds on the shot clock. Zeller, Jerebko, and filler, 2018 Celt 1st rounder, and all the 2nd rounders they could ever want.

Zeller and Minny 2nd (or Clippers 1st) for Taj Gibson.

Does anyone really think Bogut (everyones favorite low cost expiring big to acquire) would get more rebounds the rest of the season than Gibson? I dont.

The most important ability is availability. Give me Taj over Bogut anyday. Plus if we strike out in FA we can Zeller/Amir him with a fat 1+1 to get a rotation player and trade chip for salary matching.

You see, this trade is rational. I'm a big fan of Taj Gibson, he's solid every year. Would help a lot at the 4

Philly is playing hard, Noel is available for the right price. Just playing hard keeps his value high and the way he's playing at the moment... Philly's FO couldnt be any happier with him right now. The right moment to showcase him because of Embiid's injury.

Their frontcourt has a big logjam. They'll have to make room for Embiid, Saric, Ilyasova, Simmons, Okafor and Holmes. Thats a huge logjam and they have to move some chips for some guard depth.

I like Holmes as well a guy who plays hard and with passion. He can grab 6-8 boards for you in limited minutes. Ideal big of the bench for us.

For the right price we can get Noel, but the way he's playing now. I think that Ainge waited to long.. His value is quite high at the moment.

Perhaps we should look at other options like Chandler a vet with playoff experience. And try to add a bench big like Holmes from Philly who wont cost much.

What about Holmes for Rozier... seems to balance both rosters a bit doesn't it?

Yeah it actually does. I really like the way Holmes plays, he plays with a chip on his shoulder. The games he played against i was quite impressed actually. But almost every big has a big feast against our frontcourt.

But the kid has some upside.

I'm down with Holmes. Kid has big upside, get him now while he's untapped.
