This franchise has been disappointing for the longest fkin time. There's literally only been about two seasons in the last 15 years where I had some real long-term hope for the team, and each time that hope was smashed, so it's always best to take a cautious approach with this fkin team.
I wanted to believe again when Phil was hired, so I got on board just based on his past-success. Going into the Okafor/KP draft, I wanted KP because I thought Okafar was a no-D scrub, so KP coming to us only got me further hyped. Was totally on board for KP's rookie year and accepted the growing pains, but then I had to instantly jump back off the ship when Phil signed Noah to that ridiculous contract. Literally at that fkn moment, I knew that the Knicks would be stuck as a .500 team for 2-3 more years at best. Couldn't even believe that chit contract when I read it. Had to jump off on principle.
Fast forward to now, and it's obvious that this team is trash. WELL DUH! Da fook. So now Phil wants Melo gone huh? Now bro?! Whatever dude. It's true that Melo's play has dropped this year, but it's been dropping every year for like the past 3 years, so what, I'm just supposed to think trading Melo is THE GREAT STEP to getting some new version of the Knicks?
What, I'm just supposed to forget that Phil thought DRose + Clee + 16 mil Noah was supposed to make this chit a superteam? fk dis. I ain't stupid, I ain't forgettin none of that, and I ain't forgetting that Phil has been trash.
There ain't gonna be some new version of the Knicks if Melo gets traded because trash moves like trading Chandler and signing Noah were Phil's moves--and guess what--Phil is still here.
So fk dat. And also, all of these passive aggressive leaks by Phil to the media have been childish as f. I've never even liked Melo that much, but he's getting trashed on his (potential) way out, just so Phil gets to hide some of his trash moves. And honestly if I had to bet, I still think the odds are in favor of Melo staying because he won't waive his NTC. More than anything though, the exit that I'm most looking forward to is Phil's. Melo can bounce and I won't love or hate him in retrospect. Phil though? Man, as a Knicks fan, I want that dude gone. Can we get a competently run organization for once in my life or what? fk dis team
On October 31, 2009, against the Kings, a bat descended onto the court causing a stoppage of play. As the bat flew past, Ginóbili swatted the bat to the ground with his hand. He then carried the creature off the court, earning the applause of the crowd.
