What do you expect the Kings to do before the trade deadline?

Are you expecting any moves? Do you want to see moves? Who would you like to see traded? Who do you expect to be traded?

Tough question honestly. Afflalo has been playing well lately, if he can play his way into a team giving up some value I could see him being moved. I see Casspi 100% being moved. If WCS keeps playing the way he has the last few games then Koufos may be a candidate to go.

I can't get a feeling of Collison, he's been playing non aggressive basketball all season until last night. I think he isn't worth enough expiring to move him so I think we keep him and if no better options come up this summer then he and lawson are both resigned.

I think Cousins/Temple and the young guys won't be moved.

Cousins/WCS/Papa
???/Tolliver/Skal
???/Barnes
Temple/Richardson
Collison/Lawson

Every day I'm getting more intrigued by Richardson. Thinks he's big in our future plans. If we could move Koufos/Afflalo/Casspi and end up with a first or another decent young prospect at sf (dekker?, Oubre?) I'd be pretty happy. Probably thinking to much with oubre but you catch my drift.

Probably Dekker too. He is the type of player D'Antoni really likes. 3 pt shooter. If Suns were trading Chandler elsewhere, I could see them potentially moving someone for Koufos. I don't think they will move Chandler though. PJ Tucker would be a hard nosed player to help you maybe get to the playoffs. Probably not ideal trade partners though. I was going to ask about Gay....for some reason I missed that he got hurt and is out for the season. That hurts for competitiveness or if there was a good trade to be made.

I think the prime candidates to be traded from the Kings are Casspi, Afflalo, Koufos, and probably WCS.

Not sure what other teams would be willing to give up for those players, though.

All of those guys are on some pretty darn good, bargain contracts, though. I would like to guess it would hold some value for several teams, imo.

Ya we will see. Really we have no need for PJ. If we plan on making the playoffs we should target a trade of Koufos/Casspi for the best pf we can get. I think afflalo is better for our team (if we plan on making the playoffs) than PJ. Either that or make a move to get a long term piece like Dragic. But honestly at this pt I'd rather let the young guys like wcs/Richardson play and see how we do.

Yeah, Richardson with a good game last night.

The kid just looks smooth on offense. Hes got a great stroke, plenty of confidence, and his measurables are fantastic. He could be exactly what Cousins needs at the 2.

Most likely traded from the Kings will likely be the following :

MAC
CASSPI
KOUFAS ( could net us a future # 1 pick ) Contract is very friendly plus he has 2 more seasons under contract though the 2nd year is a player option . The friendly contract + guaranteed years is value to other teams needing a Center . Portland , Bucks , Spurs , Rockets etc.
AFFLALO
COLLISON
BARNES ( POSSIBLY )

I do not the the Kings will trade STEIN now

Likely safe CUZ , TEMPLE & Our current rookies

Kings would be wise if they signed Reno Big Horns Lamar Patterson to a contract that guy is a stud player !

I'd like to see Ben Mac at least bring back a 2nd. Even if Willie regresses, which I doubt considering it was just as much about commitment IMO, I think the Rudy Gay injury forces the Kings hand in dumping Kosta. He's a solid player but not a difference maker for Sac and this Koufos/Cuz crap has reared it's ugly head again. If Rudy opts in then cap space is out the window pretty much so cutting Kostas deal from the books might mean the difference in being FA players or not. Outside of that I think you just keep it as is.

I fully expect the Kings to stand pat, because they won 2 games in a row (including @Cleveland) and Vivek Ranadive isn't going to let his team do anything but go full steam ahead for a "playoff run".

What they SHOULD do is conduct a fire sale and sell of all of their expiring contracts and unnecessary veterans for picks and prospects, but there's no way in hell Vivek will let them do that.

Not expecting anything significant. Just don't have many assets with much trade value.

Interested to see the Bucks on the list of Koufos destinations.

Imagine we would have to be sending at least
one of our other centers elsewhere to open up minutes.

But would Milwaukee really trade a protected future first? If we were a guaranteed contender maybe but that would be risky now, at least for a role player with only one additional year guaranteed under contract (he'll opt out for sure if his play stays at this level I presume).

Thinking about what a deal might look like in general.

My sources are telling me that we are not going to make any major or significant moves now that Rudy Gay is out for the season.

With Kanter out in sure OKC would have sweetened a deal for Gay. Dammmmiiiitttttt

Maybe they want a back up C? Koufos + McLemore for Payne

Call up Skal and Papa G... continue the youth movement.

Payne, Richarson, Bogdonavic, Skal, Willie Cauley-Stein, and Papa G. All of a sudden the Kings have a ton of prospects.

Try to trade our more worthless assets, wiff, and end up doing nothing.

With Philly playing very well of late, what is the incentive to full on tank? We likely won't get much for any of the players you are referencing and if we play ourselves to worse than Philly that trade will look even worse than it already does.

I'm with you if Koufos/afflalo/barnes/casspi/collison could return anything of value that would be fine, but to trade them to save money or get a few 2nd round worthless picks, there's just no point?

Absolutely.
However I still believe Papa won't develop into any sort of decent to good player until 2 full seasons of development. If Joeger does what he said he was going to we will see him as a dominant centre.
Skal is a little closer and Malachi just seems like he is a player that needs the opportunity and he will show just how good he could become so we need to get minutes into him from now until the end of season because I would think Bogdanovic should get half decent minutes and consistent minutes right off the bat and it will be tough to have 2 young SGs doing the same thing
