Oh my! What a game!!! Such a fantastic ending, truly one of the most clutch performances I've seen in a good while.

+5 Tyson: For letting Jokic just absolutely wreck him, and for purposefully not getting the rebound on those last like 3 possessions!!!
+1 Book: Nice, -19!!!!!

-1 BK: Terrible job by the TANK COMMANDER. Do. Your. Job.
-2 Bled: Bro, those drawn fouls are killing us!!
-3 TJ: Bro, stop scoring!!

...
...

Okay,

+2 TJ: Very efficient, solid rebounding numbers. I liked what I saw.
+2 Bled: Man, Eric is just BALLIN' these days!
+1 BK: I hate him with all my heart and soul, but 8-11 is 8-11.
+1 Book: Gotta love the STREAK.

-3 Tyson: Wow man, just obliterated out there. I guess you can't blame him cause Jokic is a god.
-3 Earl: What. The. ****. Worst rotations I have ever seen. I realize he is trying to win, but there is just no excuse to playing our 3 rookies 9 combined minutes.

Other notes, + and -:
+: I enjoyed the Denver announcers tonight!
-: Earl, GTFO GTFO GTFO GTFO GTFO GTFO. We are 15-31. We are not a good team. We are not a good team. We are not a good team. Give. The. Rookies. Minutes. For. The. Love. Of. God.

You realize Bender was out tonight with an injury right? And Chriss picked up 4 fouls in his 8 minutes played, he played himself off of the court. Maybe Ulis should have got some burn, but I don't see a reason to be pissed off that our second rounder didn't play.

Damn, I didn't know about Dragan; I could've sworn the site I use for box scores doesn't even put the players who are injured on there?? I will give him that.

I am still not pleased at all with the rotations, though. The BK-LB-Dudley-TJ-PJ lineup was the absolute bane of my existence, so I think my criticism still stands-- I see legitimately no reason for that lineup. I suppose that frustration with the rookies' PT is more a reaction to Dragan's dwindling/inconsistent playing time before the injury. And that I'd rather give Chriss another shot as, again, we are not a good team by any stretch of the imagination. Also, to be real, I am pissed that Ulis doesn't play more. And hell, Alan Williams more than a minute if there is no Dragan and you are trying to not play Chriss.

+3 TJ Warren: Great to see him contributing again on offense. His defense wasn't the best tonight, but better than most and both teams were doing their best sieve impression tonight.
+1 Eric Bledsoe: Solid game on offense, but he was getting worked my old man Jameer Nelson at times on defense. Bledsoe has a reputation as a good defender, but I feel like he's been a bit lackadaisical at times this year on that end.
+1 Brandon Knight: Good first half, not as good second half but he wasn't destroying the game like he tends to do so that deserves recognition.
+1 Devin Booker: Needed some of the 3's to fall, but he scored efficiently and in a variety of ways. He's such a bad defender though, I remember a stretch in the 3rd where he got scored on 3 possessions in row where they were seeking to get him switched onto the ball to go at him. Good job distributing for 6 assists, but 5 turnovers is far too much.

-3 Marquese Chriss: After seeing some improvement with his fouling tendencies, he's now picked up 8 fouls in his last 20 minutes on the court, which is absurd. He didn't do anything particularly bad when he was on the court, but he deserves a negative for playing himself off the court.
-3 Tyson Chandler: He got dominated by Jokic tonight, and we got dominated on the boards partially because of it. We can't allow teams to get 19 offensive rebounds on us, and it starts with Tyson holding his own on the boards. Jokic had a ridiculous 8 offensive rebounds tonight and we got out rebounded by 18 rebounds.

I think watching the game instead of the box score explains the lineups a little bit. Jokic was eating Chandler up, I don't think it was all Jokic though. Chandler was nailed to the floor and noticeably slower than usual. Len only played about 10 minutes but to me he looked like he had a nose cold and had just gone through a box of tissues, probably sitting too close to our announcer who obviously also had a cold or the flu. The point is, we were playing at altitude and a few players seemed to be under the weather. We even tried Williams on Jokic early and that guy's been straight up DNPing for almost a month.

Yeah they tweeted it out before the game, hopefully he'll be back soon.

That lineup was really bad, and I definitely agree that our rotations are not very good a lot of the time. Dragan has definitely seen more inconsistent playing time, but he hasn't been playing very well this month (shooting 28% from the field and 27% from 3 this month) so I'm not surprised they've slowed down his minutes a little. Chriss probably should have gotten another shot after his second time being taken out for fouling, but you don't want to ingrain bad habits in him with all the fouling either, and he's been fouling like crazy the last 2 games. Ulis will get time eventually, but right now he's a 2nd round rookie behind 2 point/combo guards that are being paid a lot of money to be on the court, so it's not surprising he doesn't get consistent PT. I honestly don't see Alan as a big part of our future either, I think he'll be our hype guy at the end of the bench and that's about it, but I definitely like having him around.

That lineup outscored the Nuggets 29-18 in 9 minutes last night. +70.6 NetRtg.

To be fair, I did watch the game; I never vote unless I watch the entire game. I just don't think that the goal with younger players ( Len, Williams (who I think could be a solid 8th man some day), and Ulis) is to let them work through these games. For Williams, 1 minute is not enough to make the "you are ready" threshold-- of course he wouldn't be ready, you gave him 1 minute! I would hope we would receive an injury update on Len if he was not feeling well, but Len needs to play more; we have to know what we have there, and he is too old to be yanking and only giving 10 minutes.

Personally, I see no intrinsic value, short term or long term, to playing that lineup. I'm sorry, and I get that people have different opinions on "ALWAYS PLAYING TO WIN" and developing your youth, but I don't see how one can.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood you, I thought your point was that you had only checked the box score. Anyway, IMO, Watson was forced into using unusual lineups. When you're short-handed, playing in altitude, and each lineup you try struggles, you go a different way. I didn't much care for the strange lineups either, I just didn't think it was a big deal given the circumstances.

Fair points all around; I am just really on edge with the McD "are we a playoff team" comments, as this and the next game are of utmost importance in that decision. It's good to give Earl SOME credit every so often, and while it is a disagreement that I hold, I have to remember that he is technically a rookie head coach, and many situations he encounters are, in fact, completely new.
