Oklahoma City center Enes Kanter sustained a fractured forearm after punching a chair on the Thunder’s bench on Thursday night, a self-inflicted injury that could sideline him six to eight weeks, league sources told The Vertical.

Kanter, the Thunder’s second-highest paid player at $17.1 million a season, fired his fist into the empty chair in frustration on his way to the bench during a first-half timeout in Oklahoma City’s 109-98 victory over Dallas.

Our bench scorer and our best trade piece are now gone. Good job Kanter.

How stupid do you have to be to take YOURSELF out with an injury like that. Right as we are about to come out of the tough January schedule. Gone for two months. He might not move during the season anymore, but come draft night.... especially after something like this.

This will help us in the long run. Our young guys will be forced to actually play basketball and not just dump it into one guy. There will be growing pains, but we'll come out stronger.

Yeah, I'm not totally sure this hurts.

We were finally healthy :(

Anyway it's going to hurt most for WB to hit his triple double average ( assists) than our team level. Hope Lauvergne will play like 1-2 months ago.

Re the on/off numbers posted by bondom on DT

You gotta dig deeper. Both Kanter and Russ on means Kanter playing with the rest of the starters or at least a big part of them. Which brings me to what I've been saying for weeks: Kanter can't carry lineups. The perfect role for him is being the guy cleaning up the glass and finishing at the rim after good passes. He would have been brilliant with the 2012 bench next to Harden and Collison.

Does this mean Billy has to actually coach? I'm not sure what that will look like.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

We'll see what Sabonis can do with 30 MPG.

Silver lining is guys like Lauvergne and Sabonis get more minutes. Maybe we even call up Huestis or Dakari and see how they fair? Why not?

Losing a few games helps us get a better pick anyway.

Luckily one of those weeks there's no games with the all-star break.

We'd have to cut someone to sign dakari. Please be singler.

Which, as we all know, in Thunder Land that means he'll be reevaluated in a month and that will start the clock on his 6-8 week recovery timeline.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

Lol at all the whoa is russell talk from the media.

Guy aint that good. Heard kornheisher or wilbon say it was a one man team now... uh... steven adams isn't a good player?

This wont help his assists since he's a good dump off man. Might help his rebounds, hard to say.

That's not going to happen, though I think it should. I don't see Singler being a part of any trade package, so no reason to keep him.
