Mini tank is cool. Trading Jimmy is no bueno.

You pine for Bucks (not sure why because they are in same boat as Bulls), Sixers, and Wolves...Bulls could easily be Magic, and Suns.

Getting a new FO should be the only thing fans really pine for. A Spurs or Warriors guy ideally.

No Embiid? Come on that's the only reason to even watch this game. It's sad because I've been holding out hope all season they will turn it around and even just get to 4 or 5 games over .500 but I've done lost hope. Watched almost every game this season and now I'm not even going to be mad if I miss it.

We don't really have an appropriate place to post this, but just watching the Windy City game - DV has 6 3's at half time.

Making amazing passes every time down as well, his teammates botching so many attempts though. Still has 7 assists and counting.

The main problem I see though is he just doesn't have the athleticism, handle, or interior finishing to score inside the arc. He'd be lucky to have a made FG inside the arc.

Hmm...a player who can shoot and pass. Hey that sounds like something we could use! Why isn't Denzel getting any minutes on the NBA level?

How bad are his handles?

Denzel looks like a bust to me, just given his age, injury history and lack of athleticism. By bust I mean in terms of ever being a quality starter in this league.

I'd love to be proven wrong, and I'll be honest I hated the pick all along so I'm a bit biased.

Denzel is playing well, 7-11 on threes and could get a triple double

So what? Yes, you take D-League performances with a grain of salt as it comes to translating to NBA action, but this is about as good as a performance you can ask for. There's lots of draft picks that play mediocre in the D-League.

You take it fwiw, but he's getting a chance to show what he can do with the ball in his hands. Making beautiful passes game long and is 8-13 from 3. Colour me impressed.

I'm glad he's not falling on his face, and at least getting some playing time.

Would love to see him do these things in an NBA game but for some reason he can't crack the rotation even with rec league level talent ahead of him. Question is why?

It's pretty rough to judge someone on his playing time under Hoiberg, where there is little rhyme or reason to the rotations. I would simply say it's a matter of more experienced players being more pushy about playing time, and having a rookie is one of the few players you can get away with keeping out of the rotation.

There's lots of people pining for Val to get court time because he's shown himself to be better in his court time than some of the options we're putting out there.

I think the FO has some sway here as well. They loved Grant and wanted to draft him. Now they're likely pushing for him to get playing time to see what he has. Unfortunately, he sucks at basketball.

When he played 30 minutes against the Wizards Denzel scored 19 points. After that he got 5 minutes for one game, 10 the next, then zero, then 24 (where he had 8 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals, and 2 blocks) and then zero minutes the last game. His minutes have been sporadic all season long.

From his performance tonight, I think he demonstrated both his NBA-readiness and role player limitations. He displayed his elite skills (3 point shooting, passing, and rebounding as a guard), but also his big limitations (0-8 from inside the arc).

I think the question in finding his niche, is can he develop his ball handling and scoring through penetration enough to warrant having the ball in his hands enough to allow him to take advantage of his passing and shooting off the dribble. If you're not a threat to score outside of the 3 ball, it really limits him to being a secondary PnR ball handler, imo. I think he needs to develop his handle and get some more crafty go-to moves inside the arc to open his game up.

Denzel finished with 24/8/7 but 7 turnovers from being too fancy. But 8-14 on threes! He is good shooting at the top of the circle like the wizards game

Gimmedat you are spot on. I see the same thing. Can make the 3 off the PnR but can't turn the corner. He can't get his own shot inside the arc and can't get to or finish at the rim. Maybe he can but we just haven't seen it yet.

Either way he needs to be the 4th starting PG and get a 7 game look. I've seen enough from Grant and MCW.

Sixes have been winning recently without Embiid. Their no name guys have been great, that is mostly why they had the hot streak. Well that and Embiid but he only plays half a game even when he plays.

The Bucks, Giannis (22), Parker (21), and Brogdon (24) are on a completely different trajectory than Butler (27) and whatever else this is.

The fear of becoming the Magic or Suns should never prevent you from flushing the toilet.
