SlowPaced wrote:One good thing about this win streak that I can take away is that we might be giving ourselves a good set of role players for the time we're going to be competitive. This, as long as guys give the team the credit it deserves for rejuvenating them or getting them to reach their potential and wanting to stay with us long term. Guys like Dion Waiters, James Johnson, Wayne Ellington, Willie Reed are all on one year contracts.
I think we're basically a glorified D-League team right now aside from Dragic and Whiteside. Just purely development and rejuvenation purposes. And it's working.
I like that this is the case, it's a great culture to have. And one not many teams do. (Spurs are probably the only one besides us)
Edit: Also, Spo is proving himself big time. This trend of developing players is no fluke. Even though he pisses us off at times, he and his coaching staff are doing an amazing job building a culture and a sense of consistency. That's an invaluable asset to have. He's still young for a coach as well, there's a good chance he's gonna end up being a Sloan, Popovich type and coach the team for a long time. He has a coaching philosophy, a system and ability to get guys to buy into his system. That's big enough of a quality for me to overlook his shortcomings such as bad rotations and bad sets out of timeouts.
Agreed. Youth development is awesome.

Since reaching GOAT status , freaking guy makes us wait an eternity for a new GT. When he was a nobody he would be putting the new GT as soon as the old game was over. Imho he is letting fame get to him.

7 wins in a row. Unfreakinbelievable.
Huge game from James Johnson tonight, who has been one of the finds of the season. He was slumping a little without TJ around, but rediscovered some touch in this one.
How good has Goran Dragic been lately?
His numbers in December and January to date are below (27 games):
21.4 ppg
4.2 rpg
6.3 apg
0.9 spg
3.5 tpg
35.5 mpg
7.9 / 16.1 = 48% fg
1.7 / 3.9 = 40% 3fg
4.0 / 5.0 = 77% ft
We sure we want to trade this guy? Those are All-Star calibre numbers.

Well to be fair, Dion is just sexier, black Nowitzki.

I think OP, might protest GT... I feel you flash... but like my old gunny says:
Have faith.

Ours is not to wonder why. Ours is to do and die.
Have faith.
