Any chance Harden could be our 2nd ever unanimous MVP?

Kanters stupidity really hurt Westbrooks chances and just when the Thunder were starting to get on a bit of a roll too but if Westbrook can somehow keep them afloat without Kanter then it would even further his MVP cause.

They would just steal votes from each other

Yeah, because the Rockets totally haven't dealt with a center breaking a bone this season

Yeah and steal from Westbrook and Harden making it an entertaining race for MVP. We'll see how the 4 do the second half of the season. Just like it is a tale of two halves in a game -- it' is a tale of two halves of the season.

There's no way either will win. Curry playing better is just making it harder for Durant. Like I said earlier, if KD (or Steph for that matter) win, I'll eat my shoe.

Also isn't really the half way point. Rockets (played more games than anyone but the Lakers, but still) have played 50 games already. No way Curry or Durant are able to flip it in 32 games, while also not splitting the vote for a GS MVP.

It will be entertaining, but between Westbrook and Harden.

Yea one of them would have to play great and the other would have to fall off some for either to even have a shot at MVP. But to me this race is between Harden and Westbrook and maybe Lebron

I just think it would be very interesting to see how many votes they would get and how many MVP votes it would take Harden or Russ to win. We seen Curry win unanimously which is difficult to do. If KD, Curry, Bron, or Kawhi all get MVP votes we could see Harden or Russ win with the least votes an MVP has ever gotten to win.

No chance with Westbrook potentially securing a good portion of the vote, and rightfully so.

Right now I'd have:

1. Harden
2. Westbrook

3. Curry
4. Kawhi
5. James
6. Durant

The last four are largely interchangeable, IMO.

If Thunder record drops then Harden walks away with MVP honors.

I don't think Westbrook has a chance unless the Thunder hit the magic 50 win barrier. They probably aren't going to go 22-12, but maybe have a small chance.

Westbrook is in danger of shooting under 40% this season. I genuinely can't understand why there's still a debate between him & Harden.

This dude is right. Right now harden is far better in scoring and playmaking (eye test and stats) his team is getting much better results with a similar supporting cast, he's just amazing. Miles over rw.

I'm absolutely not a rw detractor but once again we had another russell westbrook triple double in another ugly, terrible game (and loss) against the cavs. It's not even about how easier is it to get triple doubles nowadays, it's just that it is an irrelevant thing. We just gotta stop. He's a player that scores 31 with 24 shots and 10.5 ft, great but behind a decent number of guys, 10.2 5.5 turnovers 10.6 rebounds, poor defense, not a very good team record. Amazing? Sure. Mvp this season? Absolutely not. Mvp level? Maybe

I think everyone can agree that Russ putting up 25/8/8 but at a higher efficiency (e.g. 48% shooting from the field, 40% from the 3s) would result in a better season for him as opposed to what he is putting up right now. The whole triple double obsession should stop now as it is not as impressive as what it seems just on paper.

And yet, plus minus data still puts him well ahead of Harden and near Lebron. The TD thing is whatever, he's said he doesn't care as much about that as winning. He had a bad game, but they're still 18-6 when he has one. And he's not magically going to be more efficient. Sorry but if that's the complaint you might as well complain the sky is blue.

Efficiency is not equivalent to offensive ability.

Triple double season average is a big issue because there are a lot of people (both fans and the media) who state that Russ should get the MVP if he averages the triple double. For these people, nothing else matters, which makes this whole triple double thing quite irritating.
