He already does...it is Jimmy or Wade in the foreground and GarPax in the background. He just passes the drawn plays from GarPax to Jimmy/Wade.

When asked about how he feels about his new starting role, Portis replied "I just really wished Dwyane got to practice more, man."

Its starting to feel like Fred is pulling names out of a hat for a few of his starting spots.

4 straight DNPs and now he's starting. Fred is a clown.

Fred's coaching this season can be summed up as 'throwing s*** at the wall and hoping something sticks'.

It's definitely unfair to Portis, but hopefully he can capitalize on it.

Camera on the stream I'm watching was panned in on Butler for a minute, dude was yacking it up courtside. He better bring some more effort tonight.

Man....Niko must have a real bad reputation in the organization when he is not even able to start over Portis. And, we have heard reports from KC that Wade/Jimmy were pissed at Niko when they went off verbally.

There is something else which has happened other than his on-court play which has pushed Niko so much down in the rotation.

Something as a basketball fan for over two decades I have learned, even as playing (not professionally of course) but also being a fan of the NBA is that consistency is something that player flourish with - meaning that, whether a player is given 38 minutes per game, or 15 minutes per game, when they know what type of minutes they will be getting game to game, or thereabouts, it just creates more consistent performances and confidence.

What Fred is doing just doesn't make sense. He is changing line ups constantly, and it's just creating uncertainty with the players, especially the young players. You don't build confidence by giving someone 30 minutes one game, and the first game he doesn't play well in zero minutes next is the quickest way to create uncertainty within a players mental space.

After his first season, I advocated patience with Fred, but he just isn't a good basketball coach. It's one thing to be a good personable leader as a head coach but lacking in the X's and O's, or being great with X's and O's but being a horrible personable coach, but he seems to not get it from a personable stand point nor a X's and O's stand point, which makes me wonder, how can fans see this but not management?

It clearly hasn't worked, and he hasn't improved. I'm not sure what we are waiting for with him?

Niko is just a definition of a bad player. Some claim he's the 6th best, but in my eyes he's a scrub slightly better than Cannan.
I rather start Portis over Niko. Has more potential and energy although defense is worse. Not to mention he shoots better and has superior rebounding skills.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Well Portis is our best 3PT shooter, so this should help right?

^^ Portis is being massively underrated here. Other forum guys easily want our big man. He is kind of mid to late 1st round value I would say. Rather start him and raise his trade value.

He has pushed himself out of the rotation with his play, but Fred hasn't exactly helped the situation with Niko and his confidence either by being so erratic with his minutes.

Fred just doesn't seem to command any respect as a coach, and when the players don't respect you as a coach, and the players are basically running the ship, if you're a weak personality like Niko, you're going to go run over.

The problem is, there aren't many available coaches who will command the respect of Jimmy and Wade from the get-go. If there is one coach I think we missed an opportunity to nab is probably Dave Joerger. I name him, not because I think he is the best coach in the league, but he was probably the most attainable top quality coach we could have realistically had.

I think with Joerger we would have made the playoffs last year, and would be about 10 games better than we are this season.
