TOR/CHI/Philly: Ross to Philly, Okafor to Chicago, Taj+Mcdermott to Toronto
Simple trade:
Raps trade: Ross for Taj+McDermott
Philly trade: Okafor for Ross
Bulls trade: Taj+McDermott for Okafor
NEW LINEUPS:
Raps:
PG: Lowry/Joseph
SG: Demar/Powell
SF: Caroll/McDermott
PF: Taj/Patterson
C: JV/Bebe
Philly:
PG: Mconnell/Rodriguez
SG: Ross/Stauskus
SF: Simmons/Covington
PF: Ersan/Saric
C: Embiid/Noel
Chicago:
PG: Grant/Rondo
SG: Wade/Valentine
SF: Butler/Zipser
PF: Miritic/Portis
C: Lopez/Okafor
WHY FOR THE BULLS?
1) They are not going anywhere with the current group. Taj is a FA. Might as well get Okafor and see what he'd do with regular PT.
WHY FOR THE 76ers?
1) GM Bryan Colangelo drafted Ross in Toronto, so we know he likes his game. Philly will need shooters with Ben Simmons. Ross is signed for 2+ years, so he's a good fit.
WHY FOR THE RAPS?
1) They get Taj as a much needed PF, and McDermott gives them another shooter. Powell has made Ross expendable.

Seems like a really good deal all around, imo.

Thumbs up from the Sixers. Seems pretty solid all the way around.

I like it for the Bulls. Seems pretty good all round. My first thought was that Raptors were getting more value than what Ross is worth, but both Bulls and Sixers are getting decent value back.

Big thumbs up to this trade from me. Depends on how you evaluate Okafor... but Ross seems like a fair trade for PHI. He should be a productive player who adds a perimeter threat to their team.

I like it. Not sure it can help Toronto out of the shambles but the value is good.

You would think that if anything, Philly would take the Taj/McDermott deal and just eliminate the Raptors from this deal.

I'd still prefer to cut out the Raps and deal straight with Chicago, switch Taj out with a 1st.
But can't really complain about Ross for Okafor.

I can. Frankly, I wouldn't really want either, but Ross has never been able to even crack the starting lineup in Toronto in 5 seasons. I guess that he's still youngish, but really after 5 seasons, I don't think you can really hope for much development. Ross is what he is at this point, and that's a part-time player making $10M a yr. I can definitely complain that the return is too low.

Well, Colangelo drafted Ross, so I'm assuming he likes him. Okafor isn't getting PT even if Embiid is sitting out games (like tonight). He's a drastically depreciating asset. His value isn't all that high.

Okafor isn't getting PT even though Embiid is sitting because he's also injured right now. Even if his value isn't all that high, IMO, it's still more than a Ross. And just because someone drafted a player doesn't mean he likes them 5 years later, especially if he doesn't pan out to what his expectations were at the time that he drafted him. He drafted Ed Davis, I doubt he's bothering to try and trade for him. Seems like a bad assumption that if someone drafted a player, they naturally would want him. You can say he's a drastically depreciating asset all you want - he's also isn't an expiring one. There's no urgent need to trade him if the return isn't worthwhile. This is high #1 pick who is less than season removed from averaging 18/7 and shooting 50% from the field. He has his deficiences on defense, we all know that, but that's a talent level/potential that someone like Terrence Ross will never achieve.

I'm sorry but your post just shows how misinformed people are on Ross. He started for 2 full seasons at small forward which the raptors won 48 and 49 games in those years. The issue is that he is a sg who can play some sf, but not full time against starting forwards because he gives up too much size.
Ross went to his bench role when Carroll came last year, and has stayed in that role because Casey likes lineup consistency, starting 3rd string guys when a starter is out.
He is capable of starting at the 2 and is probably the best possible fit in terms of role players that you'd want to put around embiid and Simmons.
Guys that can shoot, defend, and keep up in transition. As a probable 4th option after embiid, Simmons, and hopefully a pg in the draft, he's perfect because teams will have to chase him around screens all game, with the threat of him going off anytime he makes a shot. An X factor.

Let's not go overboard to pump up Ross, there's a reason TOR already likes Powell more. Ross is not much of a defender. But he'll put in the effort, and that's something, and he can shoot, albeit on low volume. And even though he started a couple of years, he's still never played even 27 MPG. So it is still an open question what Ross would do full time with 30+MPG.

Either Ross or Douger would be fine for Okafor.

Like it for everyone, but I'd be concerned about giving Ross away for 2 months of Taj if he's not retained.

Ross is a capable defender, won't hurt you, won't make you significantly better either. With embiid and Covington on the floor, they'd probably be top 10 D.
I don't know how you think his shooting is low volume though, you clearly haven't watched him play. The dude jacks up threes with no conscience, if anything his efficiency is hurt because of his high volume, every other shot is a heat check mentality which is his current role. 5 attempts in 23 minutes is a lot. The Lowry/bench unit that had been great for Toronto the last 2 years has used Ross as the second option. With most of his minutes coming as a 4th option he would get a lot better looks then he does now.

if this trade were to go down, why does Toronto want Gibson who is older and not a stretch pf and mcdermott who is having a down season...why not just get okafor and cut chicago out entirely or have orlando as the third team that could use more scoring...

Re: TOR/CHI/Philly: Ross to Philly, Okafor to Chicago, Taj+Mcdermott to Toronto
I think Philly would need a little more value in this deal. Either some kind of protected first or wright or Bruno C
I'm one of those who is pretty convinced Okafor was an ownership influenced pick, so they still can't move a #3 pick for a guy like Ross without being able to seek the additions upside peice that one of those three minimal assets would bring.
Really, what is the benefit to Ross's money when we could keep Henderson around cheaper while TLC grows into the job? Or maybe that other foreign dude we drafted last year is ready to go?
Our fans are pretty low on Okafor, but I think this is selling pretty low :/ would rather wait till draft day to see if he can be moved then .

Good to hear your perspective. The argument for trading Okafor now though, imo, is there isn't the rotational opportunity to bump that stock up - Embiid, Noel and even Holmes are all ahead of him at C (and justifiably so). If you sell now, you can at least get value based on his youth and draft position. If you wait longer given the current situation, he might drift further in to bust territory in other teams eyes.
