I'm not a big Kizer fan at this point. I'd prefer Kelly in the mid- to late first round than Kizer in the top 5. I'm hearing good things about Wes Lunt, and Mahomes has my attention.

Here are my top QBs right now, with the round grade I have on them in parenthesis. I'm not a huge fan of this QB class, but there is some depth there.

1. DeShone Kizer (1)
2. Deshaun Watson (1)
3. Brad Kaaya (1-2)
4. Mitch Trubisky (1-2)
5. Chad Kelly (2-3)
6. Mason Rudolph (3)
7. Davis Webb (3)
8. Cooper Rush (4)
9. Seth Russell (4)
10. JT Barrett (4)
11. Luke Falk (4)
12. Austin Allen (5)

He hasn't had the season many expected from him, but the arm talent is still there. His stock has definately taken a hit though. Too many errant throws, too many INTs, and with his talent he should be dominating MAC defenses. Feels more like a 5-7 rounder now.

What I posted last week:

1. Mitch Trubisky, North Carolina

2. Deshone Kizer, Notre Dame

3. Pat Mahomes, Texas Tech

4. Mason Rudolph, Oklahoma State

5. Deshaun Watson, Clemson

6. Luke Falk, Washington State

7. Sefo Liufau, Colorado

8. Zach Terrell, Western Michigan

9. Brad Kaaya, Miami FL

10. Davis Webb, California

Notes: Trubisky lacks experience but has the arm, accuracy, poise and vision to be a franchise QB. Merits a top-5 gamble.

I was told in early October that Kizer was staying in school, but the equation at Notre Dame has changed. He has the highest ceiling and best natural tools in the class, but he’s not as good now as he was four months ago and that’s troubling.

Watson must take better care of the ball but he can do things outside the pocket that really excites me.

Liufau needs more national attention. He’s very smart and can rifle the ball on the move and from the pocket. Occasional accuracy flubs hurt but he’s improved his field vision and decision making speed from his earlier career.

Terrell has a lot of Kirk Cousins to him, with just a little less arm strength. Better athlete than advertised.

Jeff, as a big OK St guy would Rudolph be better served staying another year? Or more wishful thinking on my part? Does it depend on his bowl game?

I always say every QB that isn't guaranteed to go top 5 needs to go back to school.

Forget this year, let's talk about all that potential arm talent in next year's draft. Darnold, Browning, Jackson, Rosen, Francois...

folks none i repeat none of these guys are top 5 let alone 1st round picks, several will get over drafted because teams panic and think they need to get QB right now when they pick in the top 5 thats wrong they need to make sure they have the pieces in place before adding the QB, usually a team drafting in the top 5 has more needs than a QB
