I've decided to just run this game. I think it's more fair when the commish doesn't have a team. I'll also run FA. If anyone wants to help out with trade approvals and other managerial things to assist--great!

I plan to stick to the schedule (will be posted later today) ladies and gents, so please make yourself familiar with it and follow directions. Thanks.

I will run approvals as long as I'm not chasing down people to approve my deals every time.

And I am okay with you running FA as long as its fair, where the player goes to the most deserving team.

Tough to decide what the most deserving team is though. I would always go with most money and make it an open negotiating-free agency. Thats very objective. Just like last time. If the commish has no team its even better. Just taky the list from my op. You wont get a good list for fa in the internet elsewhere.

Appreciate the work JR.

I would make a pitch that we follow the CBA fully here and would be willing to help out running it if we do. For instance, if you trade a guy, you can't then claim him if he is waived. We set dates for when your rosters have to be legal and during that time you can't make more than a 3 for 1 trade. No trades for nothing. No trading back to back picks. I am sure there are more things. I will play either way just think it would be different and more challenging.

NESS, the only reason you chase people down is because you want your trade approved in 5 mins :)

I'd be a fan of more like the CBA, I operated thinking it was similar to CBA and stayed at Salary cap and it's hard to compete with teams operating at 40 million over and would be over hard cap in the following season.

And like BDE mentioned, trading back to back years picks should be a no go.

Technically, if operate under real CBA, no one would have been hard capped that I saw. I think everyone used the tax-payer exception who needed to, no one did a sign and trade, and no one was allowed to use the bi-annual so teams could spend as much as they want.

I ask guys who will be handling approvals, please stick to the roster size limits when approving. During the regular season a team cannot drop below 13 players after a trade or go above 15 players after a trade. And at NO POINT can any team EVER go over the 18 player limit. We will not allow those ridiculous 20-25+ player rosters in this game. Teams must make their signings for trade purposes BEFORE a trade, not afterwords. We're not doing those shortcuts in this game.

Also.. I notice certain gm's like to sign or trade for a player and have them on their depth chart, but not in their salaries. This will not be allowed this game. Your trade will not be approved if you try this.

And lastly, I plan to be strict on the 48 hour roster update rule. If you violate this, you're being replaced after the 1st offense, even if something comes up, that shouldn't have to effect the other gm's from doing trades. I will take over that team and seek out a new gm. Any trades made from the "NBA owned" team will be posted and voted on my the other gm's in the game. The majority vote will determine the outcome of the trade.

Anyone in opposition of that?

During season, every roster has to have 13 players not 12 according to the CBA. Basically the rule is that you can't receive more than 2 more players than you give out. So if you want to trade 4 guys, you need to take back 2.

I also think we should be strict with the no re-signing someone that you traded rule. For example, if I trade Anderson Varejao as part of a deal and the other team waives him, I can't then sign him again.

I'm not sure what we can do but I wonder if we can come up with a little incentive for those who have to GM the Nets or some other franchise lacking in assests. I'm not sure what if anything we can do though. I'm all for making this game realistic but we also play this to have fun and make trades. I know having the Kings last game was an absolute nightmare and not a whole lot of fun. :)

There's no incentive for being the Nets gm in real life, that the public knows about, so we're going to mirror that in this game.

I'd say maybe you give the Nets to someone with 2 teams and give them first choice of the remaining teams so they at least get one team that they think they'll be able to make moves. Kings at least have Boogie but they are similar spot.
