For a year now, Stan has basically been trying to hide reggie on defense and giving KCP the toughest cover each night. At this point, I think he's got to admit that strategy isn't working. Yes, RJ has been a bad 1 on 1 defender. Unfortunately, he's an even worse weak side defender. He loses his man and his rotations are none existent. He gives up so many corner 3's and frequently ends up in no mans land - too far from his man to contest the shot, but not deep enough to provide any real help. Worst of all, he never seems to get up when playing lesser guys and he ends up getting torched anyway.
If we're committed to RJ, then we need to make him play honest basketball. If we play a star pg, we can rotate guys on him like you would a star wing player, but RJ needs to take primary responsibility. If he's as competitive as he thinks he is, he'll take it personally if he keeps getting lit up. If not, well, then it will be on SVG to find someone who will compete.

Re: Hiding Reggie is backfiring
Totally true. Playing the Wizards without kcp made reggie be walls main defender. He did pretty good even though he looked like he was gonna pass out lol. Kcp is better helping out reggie getting steals.
