0-3 boys. The tank has a strong start. 9 more losses to go.
SHAZAM!

Suns traded Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder and 4 1st round picks and a swap so some Vegas Bookies would like us.

Wonder if we'd take back a bad contract for a lottery pick, EG:

Chandler for Milwaukee 1st and Plumlee.

I wouldn't do that deal. Gotta keep in mind, this is probably the last year where we'll be THIS bad. So as we develop, do we really need another late lottery-mid round pick at the expense of losing a good vet and gaining one of the worst contracts in basketball?

Agreed, though I'd have no problem trading TC for a young promising player or a 1st round pick, not necessarily in 2017.

There are a lot of bad contracts in basketball right now. Plumlee, Leuer, Dudley, Tele, all making $10+ per year. . . yikes.

Welcome back to the forums!
I like the idea of your trade but I don't like the idea of taking on Crawford especially if we are keeping Knight. Give Crawford to the Knicks again.

No. That's just ditching Knight for nothing. Mirotic is not only not what we need, but he's expiring, so he's not even an asset.

Pick or no deal. Pick pick pick. Pick.

Mirotic is definitely an asset that the Suns can use. But he will get paid big time.
And Suns are too crap to have someone on a long term max contract whilst rebuilding....

Not Suns related but still something to read: http://uproxx.com/dimemag/nba-trade-rumors-carmelo-anthony-serge-ibaka/3/

EDIT: It sounds like some teams are offering packages for Ibaka as well as Brook Lopez but neither team is happy with what they are being offered.
I'd like to know what kind of offers are being put out there. Too bad there aren't some regular insiders here like we used to have.

I am not sure I really even WANT to do much trading right now except maybe turn PJ Tucker into some sort of future asset. We are still developing our core. We need to wait to see what that will be before we start adding more vet pieces.

I am definitely not interested in Ibaka or BLopez.

Would you rather pay Len near 17M?

No. But Len is like the #40 free agent in this crop. I think he is going to go at $11-14 million per year -- which seems about right.

Len is going to end up in Europe if he doesn't get his **** together. He's really not any good at all.

Fair enough. Who can we get that is better than Len?

Len has low basketball IQ. No doubt he has reached his ceiling.

I def don't wanna trade for Ibaka and Lopez but this summer, I wouldn't surprise me in the least bit if we try to sign Ibaka. I wouldn't be opposed to it. We will struggle to sign big names. He would help us defensively which is a big problem. It'd allow Chriss to develop more too for a couple of years. Then make Chriss start and either bench or trade ibaka

I think he will get more than that. The point is, we control Len. Lopez wants to stay in Brooklyn and why would Ibaka come here? He's been declining over the past 4 years big time, there are questions about his real age, AND he will demand and cost a ton of money.

We let Len walk, not good.

As gaspar has pointed out,

gaspar wrote: The 2 most important things for every center are rebounding and rim protection. Len's rebound percentage for the year is 18.0 and block percentage is 5.4. To put this into perspective, here's a list of players who averaged 16+ TReb% and 5+ Blk% while playing at least 20 minutes per game in the last 4 seasons (since Len was drafted):

Image

AND, he measures out VERY well among centers in his opponents fg% that he defends at the rim, AND block per 36 minutes.

He may command some money, and he will be paid and likely be worth it.

They are both way past their prime. What's the point in signing the declining Ibaka for this young squad?
