I see Len's future somewhere in China tbh.

Would you rather pay Len near 17M?
No. But Len is like the #40 free agent in this crop. I think he is going to go at $11-14 million per year -- which seems about right.
I think he will get more than that. The point is, we control Len. Lopez wants to stay in Brooklyn and why would Ibaka come here? He's been declining over the past 4 years big time, there are questions about his real age, AND he will demand and cost a ton of money.
We let Len walk, not good.
As gaspar has pointed out, gaspar wrote: The 2 most important things for every center are rebounding and rim protection. Len's rebound percentage for the year is 18.0 and block percentage is 5.4. To put this into perspective, here's a list of players who averaged 16+ TReb% and 5+ Blk% while playing at least 20 minutes per game in the last 4 seasons (since Len was drafted):
AND, he measures out VERY well among centers in his opponents fg% that he defends at the rim, AND block per 36 minutes.
He may command some money, and he will be paid and likely be worth it.
I think the big question remains would he be better on a different team. Are we holding him back from beasting (ex: IT) and is he holding this team back from rebuilding?

Overall he's played well for us. He's still among league leaders in blocks per 36, opponent fg% at the rim, and rebounds per minute. He's just played behind Chandler. He definitely outplayed Chandler last night.
I'd be fine going for someone like Noguiera or O'Quinn if we could trade for them. I was comparing some centers for the BAT draft you can see in my sig and came up with this...
http://bkref.com/tiny/AZHRc
Problem is, we can keep Len and not give up any assets but cap space, which we have plenty of. We won't be able to beat out others for free agents, and to trade for a good center it will require draft picks or a good young player. Is it worth trading good young pieces or picks for possibly a slight upgrade? Not to me.

I'm in the camp that thinks Len's absolute ceiling is an average starter in the NBA. I truly don't even think he'll get that far.
Still, it would be a dumb move to trade him now. Moving a restricted free agent before the market has been set for their services is just bad business.
The Suns are in no rush with Len and we have all the leverage in the world.

So obtaining one just before is good business? We have done that now with Bledsoe & Knight.

Gambo talking about how he's hearing that the Suns are supposedly talking about a deal with the Kings to bring in Cousins in a deal involving our 1st rounder, potentially with young guys like Len and TJ, maybe more. Thoughts?

I'd do it but sense it would take a lot more.
My guess is: Phx unprotected 1st this year, Warren, Len, AND maybe another first or 2 between us and Miami (or Bender or Chriss)

Do it now. We get to keep Booker and Bledsoe. I'm all in

I'm not commenting on if it is a nice trade or not but I am excited already!

At least there's something to discuss.
I think we then have to look at it as, do we have enough to contend. Even in best case scenario, would this lineup compete?
Bledsoe
Booker
Tucker
Chriss (or Chandler)
Cousins
I think it would absolutely help to have guys like Tucker and Chandler to get in Cousins' ear from the leadership aspect.

I would do it in a heart beat if an extension can be agreed upon with Cousins before the trade happens. I love the prospects in this upcoming draft but Cousins is a legit superstar that we can build around and he's only 26. I know he's sort of a headcase but I believe that won't be an issue with Bledsoe and Booker here. My only issue is, would a team of Bled, Booker and Cousins be enough to not only compete in the west but also compete for the NBA title? I'm not too sure that it is but who knows what can happen in the future.

Also, if we do get Cousins, I think we'd have cap space for one more star if we get rid of Kinghts deal.

Oh Christ now we'll have weeks of endless Cousins talk... seriously when was the last time Gambo had an actual scoop on the Suns?
Now I will say if the deal was simply Len, Warren, and the pick it would be tempting assuming that Cousins' indicates he'll resign here.

What would our cap space look like after re-signing Boogie?
Love this, top talent in the game. Booker/Boogie = Kobe/Shaq

Re: Season Speculation, Trade Ideas and Discussion 2: End This Knightmare!
It is Gambo so I doubt it's anything, but it's interesting to talk about. It would definitely mean that the rebuilding effort has ended, but the goal of rebuilding is to get a superstar and Boogie is a star for sure.
I don't see why the Kings would do it if their goal is a franchise point guard though, Boogie joining the Suns would help us win games in an already tight lottery race to where we could easily end up outside of the Top 5. They are a pretty inept franchise though, so I wouldn't put it past them. Hell I'd even throw in Knight if all they want is Len, Warren, and our 1st rounder lol.

The timing makes zero sense for Sacramento. Why wouldn't they wait until the summer so our pick as high as possible?

If we were able to keep Chriss and Bender too it would be exciting that we'd have young guys that are still getting better.
I wouldn't even worry about whether Cousins would be willing to commit. If Bledsoe was still on the team, he'd have no reason to want to leave.
Not sure about the cap. We'd probably have to shed salary to be able to sign another big name.

If we can get Cousins without trading Booker, Bledsoe, Chriss and Bender, you do it. I'm all in.
Would Sacramento do it? I don't see any reason why they wouldn't.
