This. Copy past same for Evan. Good player, but if he is your best player you are bad team.

Exactly! I've always felt Fournier was a good bench player and thought his $17 million contract was not good because he is a bench player who is starting on a bad team. We didn't get a "discount" with the Fournier contract and now are stuck with that and Biyombo's albatross. Doesn't matter about how much salary cap is going up and this is the new NBA economics- just because you have cap space and money doesn't mean we have to foolishly spend it on role/ bench players.

Evan reminds me of Kevin Martin. He spent career on 30 wins team, averaging 17-20 ppg, on good percentages, had always good TS% but in second when he was asked to actually contribute in any other way but scoring (rebound ,pass, contribute to playoff team ) he would drop from the face of Earth. So he ended up his long career (over 700 games of regular season ) with grand total of 22 playoff games, and started one.
Evan is solid player but he is probably best used as catch and shoot guy or first guy off bench. However he is not good rebounder, not great passer and awful defender for starting role. If he is 4th best player on your team, you are probably contender, if he is third best player on your team you should be playoff taem ,but if he is your first or second option you are lottery team.

Couldn't have said it any better!

Aside from picking BPA (which we should) , who would you say is the best fit?

This assuming we get lucky and end up picking in the top 3.

Ind, Toronto, Atlanta, Houston, Philly in next five. We should and very easily could lose all five of those games. All better team than us. Really need to start separting ourselves in the tank standings. A six game losing streak would go along way.

I want us to have a good pick but I'm
Not as sure as others who think that the players are For sure game changers ! People are
Hoping but chances are the majority of the players are maybe going to be role players at best ! Out of all the players in the draft their is none that look like they are for sure going to be difference makers in the NBA ! Going to be a crap shoot and hopefully we finally get lucky !

I think the top three guards, Tatum, and JJ are starter quality for different reasons. The rest in the top 10 have extremely high ceilings. Rookies , even if they start, rarely contribute significantly.

If we get a top 3 pick then we have to chose the BPA and leave with one or the PG studs. Even with EP they can coexist. For God's sake were Starting CJ WATSON at PG. They can play alongside EP.

But fit? We need scoring wings bad. Long term I like Josh Jackson but automatic fit you with Jonathan Isaac. He is already a good shooter and would be our future SF with AG back at the 4. Keep EP at the point and reevaluate our SG going forward. Evan should be coming off the bench. Either of the two would be great for US.

EP
Evan/other SG
Isaac
AG
Vuc

That will be a fun season to watch.

yeah but guards tend to be the hardest to predict how there games transition to the NBA , my point is that their is a very high probability we may get another young guy who may end up being a role player that takes years to develop . I.e. Ag and ep

Agreed. It's difficult to predict who will be able to produce at the next level. We really need the highest floor / highest ceiling possible. Also, it would help if we gauged our draft pick this year based off of skill rather than freak athleticism.

Run with Hezonja until the end of the season, evaluate what we have in training camp, and go with Mario if he's improved. Fournier is great off the bench and with Vucevic that would be some good depth added to who or whatever else we got

Guards are the hardest to predict how they will translate? What makes you say that's?

And the three PGs are a completely different tier of prospect compared to AG and EP

I agree. For some reason he reminds me of a younger / better version of Kemba Walker.

If the Suns really get Cousins, the basketball Gods are sending us a clear tank signal.

I'm committed to a top pick this year, if we can usher the Lakers out of the top 3 it would be a great season.

Do not know, reading a lot of enthusiasm but can not really join you

I would like to have a high pick, but because we want to as orlando magic franchise, because we have a plan to build a team.
I can't stop believe the ownership and management want both a playoff push, not only this year but also next season as well.
