If you can get Cousins whilst keeping Bledsoe, Booker AND Chriss/Bender, you gotta do it.

This is so comparable to the Barkley from Philly deal.

The guy is hot tempered and PASSIONATE - he has a nasty streak but there isn't a single team that doesn't need to game-plan for him alone. Add him to the slashing/penetrating/shooting of Bledsoe and Booker, coupled with PJ, Dudley and Chandler keeping him in line...Wow.

Offer Warren, Len, Knight, PHX 2017 1st, MIA 2018 1st (both unprotected) for Boogie and Casspi. Salaries match and we make a run for that playoff spot. We'd still have our 2018 pick and the 2021 Heat one.

I love this line-up both now and in 2-3yr time when Bender and Chriss are hitting their strides.

Still, it would be a dumb move to trade him now. Moving a restricted free agent before the market has been set for their services is just bad business.

The Suns are in no rush with Len and we have all the leverage in the world.

Ditto.

To me he's a more injury prone Robin Lopez...And I don't want to pay that player $80m+...

Really both teams should wait for the summer to do this deal. They could even privately agree to it now, and then consummate it later.

For Sacramento, the key piece is the pick. With Cousins on the team, that pick ends up 7-9 instead of 1-3.
For Phoenix, the big risk is Cousins' impending free agency. He can sign an extension this summer.

Would Sacramento do it? I don't see any reason why they wouldn't.

I disagree. I think you wouldn't trade all of our picks for him for instance.

For Cousins it entirely depends on what is given up. Our first this year could end up being Fultz or Ball, which has a lot of value to me. Warren also has a lot of value. Len maybe not because he's about to be a free agent, but Warren, an unprotected top pick in the draft, and a bunch of other picks is a hell of a lot to give up for a guy who has suspect value across the league due to his attitude. He's not as valuable as the traditional superstar right now given reputation, whether some here disagree or not.

I'd try to include Chriss instead of Warren, or picks instead of any/all if possible.

I bet the final deal would look like

2017 1st
Warren
Len
Miami's next pick (we can't trade both of ours until we know we at least have one next season which would happen after we know whether or not Miami's pick is ours.
Bender (I sense we'll fight to keep Chriss but if McD knows he'll get fired if that's what it'll take to get Cousins, he'll prob do that too.

Cousins is not a leader and will walk all over our front office, just like he does with the Kings. We would have to gut our team to get him, and would that make us contenders? I don't think so. A core of Bledsoe, Booker, and Cousins might not even get us in the playoffs. Going after him would be short sighted and only reinforce the idea that Sarver just wants to be medicroe and chase the 8th seed.

This is not the Suns time to try to compete for the playoffs. They should focus on building through the draft and developing their own players. We finally have a few young pieces on the team and everyone is ready to ship them off for a headcase who has lead his team nowhere. Call me crazy, but I would much rather have Len, Warren, and a top 3 pick in the draft.

Chriss has to be part of the deal. Dude has a 20 pt game and the next day there is trade talk for Cousins... all but coincidental if you ask me.

Dang guys so before I was going to sleep I was thinking the Suns are probably trying to get Cousins AND Butler. It reminded me of the Celtics getting both Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.

Please no Cousins unless we can get him in a massively lopsided deal (e.g. Knight + PJ and just one of the Miami picks, which obviously won't happen). I just don't see a clear path forward for us if we give what's been rumored (TJ/Len, this year's first, Miami picks, and maybe even Chriss or Bender).

It's even more unlikely than before that we'll be able to sign a star away from another team through free agency with the new CBA, and we'd be much more constrained in terms of assets to make a move for a star via trade. So we would only have Cousins/Bled who are at their peak now, and another group of Booker/Chriss/Bender that won't enter their peaks for another few years, at which point Cousins/Bled are out of their prime.

Also Cousins's and Bled's prime are both within the the Warrior's window of dominance. And we'd have a total lack of high lottery picks in the meantime to help replenish talent 5-7 years out.

I really hope this doesn't happen and we stay the course with our young core unless we just take another team to town (which admittedly is always possible with the Kings).

I'd think they would demand Chriss. Hometown kid. Great prospect. Throw in Knight and a couple picks and they could sell it to their fan base.

Shocking that the Kings can't get wins with a big 3 of Darren Collison, Aaron Afflalo, and Boogie lol

I think it's a bit different than the Barkley deal where we came out way ahead vs the Sixers. We gave up Horny, Perry, and Lang with no draft picks (someone correct me if I'm wrong).

An equivalent deal with today's players (ignoring salary matching) would be something like Bled/Len/Tucker with no draft picks. As much as I like Bled, that would be a steal given the lack of draft picks involved.

Edit: clicked submit instead of preview. just wanted to add that the current rumor involves 2-3 potentially high draft picks which makes the trade too costly in my eyes.
