Zubac's awesome, I was a fan of him at 14 (Bulls pick) in the draft. He's a big boy and talented to boot.

Another guy I liked, Luwawu, has started getting minutes for Philly and looking solid as well. He's got a good athletic frame for a 2, ability on both ends and a variety of skills on offense.

Unbelievable that he is 2nd round pick.

2014 Jokic 2016 Zubac
.

And whats your point here?

comparing zubac to jokic after a couple good games - pretty funny stuff

I thought the laughing emoji made that pretty clear.

Well, I understand it differently, he's not comparing Zubac to Jokić, he just said it's strange how both of them fell to 2nd round.

Jokić already is a steal of his draft, Zubac might be as well.

+ Both are centers and came from the same club ( KK Mega Leks).

I think we have difference definitions of comparing.

It didn't take long for Mozgov to no longer be the Lakers' best center.

Well, I get what you're saying, I just don't find original post laughable:

17/6 on 8/9 FG in only 21 min.

Unbelievable that he is 2nd round pick.

2014 Jokic 2016 Zubac

NBA scouts should really improve their skills when they compare NCAA bigs to European bigs.

It's criticising scouts, not saying 'Zubac is new Jokić' or something.

he spent half year with Mega, his club is Cibona where he was since 14.

Anyway, they are different players, both great talents. Reason why they went low is simple, they are not athletic. For me Zubac is not surprise, I stated many times before since he was 16 that for me he is most talented Croatian center since Dino Radja and that he reminds me of Marc Gasol. He just needs to stay focused and have some luck with health

The reason he slipped to the 2nd round was due to people like Ainge stacking up late first rounders with no roster spots to bring them in. So they kept asking Zubac if he would want to stay in Europe for a while and not come over immediately, which he declined. Lakers were eager to bring him in right away and he wasn't playing much for Mega Leks owing to just returning from an injury so that worked perfectly for both parties.

That's true, but there are other teams that could use Zubac choosing before Lakers and they pass on him as well. I know it's Sacramento, but Papagiannis went 13th, so no matter the circumstances, if Zubac continues to play the way he does now he could be the steal of the 2016 draft, alongside Brogdon and possibly few others.

Im really high on Zu, but it wasnt Zubac-Jokic comparison. He is 2 years younger, to soon to compare him to Jokic.
It was about 2014 draft (when Jokic was fantastic steal) and 2016 (when before Zubac NBA GMs drafted so many worse prospects) and european bigs evaluation.

Wouldn't be surprised if Zubac ends up with a better career than Ingram

Has Ingram completely underwhelmed up to this point?

He did do this last night:

That depends on what your expecations of Ingram were prior to the start of the season. If you think of him as a raw project, then he's been as good as you could hope from a guy who looks like he could be knocked over by a stiff wind. He shows a lot of flashes in every area of the game (playing point and facilitating, perimeter defense, shooting (kinda), and taking it to the rim), and then there are times when Ingram doesn't do so hot and he looks every bit like a anorexic 18 year old rookie.

All things considered, I'm slightly disappointed in what he's done thus far...but I'm also happy with what'e he's done so far and think there's a lot of room to grow. I know it's confusing to say both. I'm "disappointed" because I thought he'd have better %s and numbers across the board. However, I'm happy because, like you said, he's shown flashes of an all around game AND has done so playing the 1-4 for a first time head coach...as a 19 year old.

Not a large sample size in terms of Zubac's minutes played, but let's compare Jokic's per 36 stats in his first year (age 20) to Zubac's per 36 stats in his first year (age 19):

Jokic: 16.5 points, 11.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.0 blocks, 2.2 turnovers, TS% .582
Zubac: 15.9 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.7 blocks, 2.1 turnovers, TS% .532

Zubac's per-36 minutes have gone up steadily in recent weeks as he has gotten more minutes. Next year he will be 20 years old, which will allow a same-age comparison. It will be interesting to see how these numbers compare next year.

I've been a big supporter of Ingram, but not understanding why he doesn't get nearly the same amount of flak as D Lo does.

Ingram has all the tools to be a great player. just needs to start putting it together. Zubac on the other hand, looks to be a stud. def think he can avg a double double in his prime.

The reason that he's not getting as much criticism as Dlo was because Dlo gets all of the criticism from the fans. Russell is the face of the team at the moment and is the one that the fans have the highest expectations for. That's actually a good thing for Ingram, since he can develop without pressure.

I mean, Russell can go for 20-10 and Lakers fans can still find something to nitpick about.
