Rebel, now you're being generous. I thought I was the "bad boy" that wanted to overpay?
I'd do that in a heartbeat!

I just really like Delladova as a fit with Murray and Jokic, he gives them a guy who brings defense and is capable of playing off the ball as well as making a few plays when needed. Plus he can shoot. Get him and trade Mudiay for a backup center and/or young SF prospect and then you have a decent team full of young guys. The big issue I have with Delladova is the same one I have with Henson, both are paid to be good starters, but neither one really is. Delladova is a below average starter, and a good backup PG. He should have gotten a contract of around $7 million a year and I would give up Nurkic for him straight up, or let them add Jameer for a 2nd, but with that contract I would need to have a 1st with him, and not necessarily from this year. But even that is because he happens to fit perfectly with what we need right now.

If the first was top ten protected I'd do it. With Middleton returning very soon I fear we might win a few extra games late in the season to keep the pick out of the lottery anyway. Is that a deal breaker?

Not a deal breaker in my eyes - of course I'd prefer the Bucks give us Antetohkounmpo & Parker & Middleton for a couple of second picks too. But your request seems reasonable, unlike mine.

Well I certainly think it's fair value from our side, only hesitation would be you block Thon from getting the chance to start through the year and you'd think we desperately need to dump two of Henson/Plumlee/Monroe to make this feasible. But on the basis of just that trade for what it is, I like it.

Again we could do it for a future 1st, I would even give you the top 10 protection if Henson and a 1st from your side were offered in addition to Delladova.

While overpaid both Henson and Delladova could fill a role needed to help develop and let the young guys grow into their roles. Henson could be the shotblocker off the bench that is never going to be anything more than a 15-20 mpg player and should realize it by now, and Delladova fits the lower quality starting PG that can be a great backup and knows how to play off the ball as well, plus his defense. Plus that would still leave the Nuggets with $20 in cap room to find their starting SF.

Haha please don't depress me with that comment. I meant to some other unsuspecting team. But still I agree and fear we can't move them..

Please trade Nurkic to a team where he can play or fire Malone's ass.
I can't stand anymore this waste of talent.
I'd love to see him play for the Bucks, the Celtics or the Trail Blazers, where he would flourish.

wasting talent?

the dude is playing terrible.

some of the responsibility may be on malone, but some of it is certainly on nurkic as well. hes not taking advantage of his minutes at all.

18 mpg - 8.3 pts - 6 rebs --- if 36 mpg, that's double-double land - I'd say he's playing well

Yeah, strange, some players just don't respond well to being jerked in and out of the rotation.

I think he's playing terrible beacuse he's in bad mood and he's trying to be traded. Maybe he thinks that lowering his value could help a trade. Not very porfessional, but I can't blame him too much in his situation.

I'm developed a thing for Nurkic so I'm tracking DEN's trade deadline stuff a bit. Some stuff I saw on twitter:

Keith Smith ‏@KeithSmithNBA 15m15 minutes ago
Sources say DEN has been very active in trade talks. Want to make playoffs this year. Have 2 more 1sts this year and already have young team

Keith Smith ‏@KeithSmithNBA 15m15 minutes ago
DEN was previously linked to Paul Millsap when he was on the market. Nuggets drafted 3 guys in the 1st last year. Ready to move forward.

Keith Smith ‏@KeithSmithNBA 11m11 minutes ago
Nuggets are also sitting on ~$17M in cap space. Space, picks and young players make them an enticing trade partner for many around the NBA.

Seems like it is more likely that Nurkic is going to be used as a trade kicker in addition to picks going out to bring in a more a significant roster piece, as opposed to being used as part of a sort of expiring + pick type trade.

C'mon WY, that's for the whole season...if you look at what he's done since Jokic entered the starting lineup (also known as the POUT PERIOD) he's been less than stellar, not even hitting those averages. Irony is Malone's reputation is being a standup guy who communicates face to face the with his players, yet he started this rift with Jusef by just sitting him, at least that's the story we're getting.

I agree he's got the Bosnian Beast inside him, we've all seen it. But the problem is inside Nurk's head and he doresn't seem to want to shake it right now, he'll probably play the rest of the season (with us ?) this way.

I agree he'll be used as a trade kicker too, if we don't get a good enough offer by the deadline I can see him used to move up in this deep draft. Not too many good C's in it though. If a team with a higher pick still see several good players available, why not add Nurk and swap picks with DEN ?

I agree that he is likely a piece for an upgrade somewhere, but I hope that it is not for Millsap or someone aging and wanting a big contract this summer.

I don't know if he will play the rest of this season this way, but I think part of it is that he is overthinking things and not just playing. On top of the whole rift with Malone of course and having his minutes jerked around without any explanation. He seems to hesitate on defense especially, like he is unsure of what he is supposed to do. Which is terrible considering how good his defensive instincts have always been.

Return to Denver Nuggets
