Heat won again!

Currently moved up to 4th place, but we'll drop to 5th if Dallas loses I think.

The young guys all look interesting. Fultz, Ball, etc. But what makes them any different to De'Angelo Russell tearing up college two years ago? Look at him now, he's nothing special yet.

What I do like about Fultz's game is his floaters and mid range game, not to mention his hands on defense. Those feel like two skills that would translate to the league pretty instantly.

Ball needs a couple more years to tighten his handles, but the fact he can shoot is nice.

I am hoping a year from now we have more hope and see the light at the end of this painful tunnel.

So what if we tanked and ended up trading the pick?

Hennigan will be gone before he gets the chance.

Yeah. The hype around prospects gets pretty absurd every year because it is the only real source of optimism for fans of struggling franchises. The number of prospects that enter the NBA these days capable of performing at a high level from the moment they enter the league seems to be lower than ever.

I wish there was a draft and follow sort of system in the NBA, where you could draft and hold the rights to a player while letting them continue their development in college. You have to commit to the development of your draftees at the expense of winning a few extra games, which is something this franchise hasn't been as willing to do as some of the other franchises around the league.

Kinda torn on wanting phoenix to win. I think pushing LA out of the top 3 is more important.

But yeah im 100% down for two more yearsof proper sixer style tanking if it means we get a star.

We have hurt enough. We deserve some luck. We need the Lakers to fall to #4.

New rules will make it hard for the Lakers to re-load this summer. They are a lock to be pretty bad next year. If they lose their first rounder this year they are likely to be pretty bad in 2018 as well. That 2019 pick could be gold.

So is anyone in this draft an actual superstar?

I was never blown away by Jahlil Okafor, Deangelo Russell or even Jabari Parker. The most recent prospects to completely have me wowed were KAT and Embiid.

Every name on this list is at worst a promising young player but there are tiers.

While I really like Isaac and Jackson, I'm not sure I'm as impressed by either as I was with say KAT.

So for now I might lean towards no... but a few guys have a chance .

The higher the pick is the greater the asset.

Example: instead of Vučević, Gordon, and 2-firsts for Butler, Chicago might consider just Gordon and one-1st if it was the overall #1.

For me I only see Fultz as a potential franchise player but of course that's with limited information.

That said there are a number of guys who could become the Magic's best player pretty quickly imo - Smith, Jackson, Tatum. Not as sold on Ball as I think we need more of a scorer.

UPDATED

1.5 games separate spots 4-10... it's crazy tight and I anticipate it staying like that. Thank God for Dion Waiters the last 9 games lol
I live rent free in your head. You know who you are :D

Not changing this sig until Magic win a championship. Started 6/26/2015.

Calling it tight is understatement. We really can't afford to win any games.

I'm hype for Jackson now.

Fultz is probably the closest thing

Very advanced slasher for his age.. Great arsenal of footwork, pull ups, floaters. Pretty good shooting form. Barely 18. He will live at the FT line in the NBA. Harden esque scoring ability

DSJ and Jackson are probably the next closest to being stars after Fultz

I'm hype for Jackson now.

Individual games haven't mattered this much since the Dwight days

...(Not sure whether I should laugh or cry )
